Yesterday::After not being able to reach the guest house that i had previously booked in CR i decided to head home to Chiang Khong,here are some pics of CR and the route home via 1098.

Hi Lizard,it has rained since we arrived back yesterday evening,'ll be going for coffee later at our usual hideaway,i'll take some pics of the mekong and post them on the (Mekong) thread later.

Just got back from CR. The town seemed back to normal. However, between Sop Pao and Phaya Mengrai there was water everywhere. The turnoff to Jubby's was blocked and it looked like he may need a boat to get home.

I just got home VF. Yes indeed. never seen it so bad.

I did manage to get home by finding the least flooded roads, had water comming over the bonnet (hood) at one stage, but hopefully that was down to my driving skills , creating a bow wave sort of thing, otherwise it could have been engine damage. took me ten minutes to prise my fingers off the steering wheel when I got in the drive. :(

My Village is effectively Isolated on higher ground, there is talk of them releasing water from a reservoiur to stop damage so it could get worse. I'll get the Tractor out methinks.
