Art Village Weekend at Royal Phuket Marina

PHUKET: -- Art lovers will want to visit Royal Phuket Marina (RPM) on September 18 and 19, designated “Art Village Weekend”.

The weekend includes several forms of art and music, including paintings, sculptures, mixed media, handmade products, batik apparel, postcards, tattoos, performance art, shadow puppet shows as well as performances by local bands and other talented artists.

All are invited to join for a night of Art from 5pm to 10pm nightly on the far end of the marina boardwalk, past Les Anges restaurant.

Most of the 30 art shops taking part in the event, organized by the Art Village artist group in Nai Harn, RPM and BMS Event Organization, are run by local people.

Those wanting to sip white wine during the event may be disappointed, however as alcohol is not allowed in the event.

Mr Narong Promjitta of BMS told a recent press conference to announce the event that “art doesn’t require alcohol to be beautiful”.

Also attending the launch press conference were Art Village painter Kitipong Ngowsiri and RPM Events Manager Muratcan Sakarya.

All the artwork on display will be available for purchase.
