About two or three years ago, sometime after the Bali bombing, Dulwich was advised by their security people to remove the logos from the buses. It was explained that they did not want to draw attention to the fact that the buses belonged to an international school. The only thing that was displayed was "school bus" in Thai.

It made perfect sense to me. As a then, parent, I felt it was wise not to make targets out of the buses.

A few days ago, I saw one of the buses with the new name and logo down the whole side of the bus. What the ###### are they thinking?? :o I realise that they may feel the need to advertise but to go back on what many considered to be prudent advice regarding security seems foolish.

Thoughts??

Terrible, they are just a money making outfit. Advertising is obviously more important than the kids safety.

I also sent an email.  I presume the person I sent it to is on holiday in the UK at the moment but I am looking forward to his reply.

I have sent them several e-mails on a different subject and have had no reply

..What the ###### are they thinking?...

I've sent them an email and asked them that very question. :o

I'll let you know what they have to say for themselves.

I just received this email. It was sent to 3 other recipients, 1 British sounding name, and 2 Thai:

TO ALL:

Please note that this matter is now under re-consideration.  Thank you very much for your expression of concern, and it is most appreciated.

Regards,

George

I am glad to hear they are reconsidering. I actually bumped into the person I emailed a few days ago and spoke to him directly about my concerns. He agreed that it was not a good idea and would look into it. He has not, however, responded to my email.

I hope for the sake of the children that they have managed to sort themselves out for the beginning of the school year. With any luck, staff morale will be a bit better this coming term.

A dollar will get you ten if they change it.

The reply to the e-mails sound like a classic fob-off.

Maybe it's just the way Headmasaters speak :o

Keep posting here if you see the buses with the school's name on it.

Sorry to bring this up again but I saw one of the buses last Friday (19th Aug) on the road, unchanged.

I really don't think they are going to do anything about this at all. Perhaps it is time for me to look the other way and think, "Oh well, my kids arent' there anymore...."

This really does burn me up but I don't know what else to do.
