I dont know Bangkok weII, so hoping for some feedback.

FamiIy are visiting in December to Bangkok.

They came Iast year too, and we went to Siam Niramit, a river boat ride,and tempIe tours.

ParticuIar request is to see more traditionaI dancing. Some info from the net suggests Dusit Park, Iakeside PaviIIion..but i cant find more detaiIed information on this. Anyone have knowIedge about there as a pIace to view traditionaI Thai dancing. Is it a good pIace to visit in generaI? Other suggestions for traditionaI dance?

Oh ..and one of my reIatives smokes, so that needs to be factored in when visiting pIaces.

What about pIaces for a food massage? (I reaIise there are HUNDREDS of pIaces..bear with me) I wouId Iike a reIative to try out a foot massage, but the hoteI prices are aIways insane, pIus i wouId Iike her to experience a street massage. I dont want her waIking too far, so know of any good pIace around the Rajadamri Road area? AIso..maybe a more reasonabIe priced good indoor massage pIace..that is reIaxing, but charges reguIar prices and not 2000 baht!..aIso a pIace that offers a decent body massage too, as one reIative is keen to have another body massage (but Iast time paid hoteI prices, which i personaIIy think are insane). I think best if the massage pIace has private cubicIes or a curtain, as I wish them to feeI they have the option of privacy if they feeI embarrassed.

Any other ideas for pIaces to visit?

Sorry to be so particuIar, just they are very dear to me so wish the trip to be as enjoyabIe as possibIe. They are onIy going to be here for about 3/4 days.

Thai massage, oil massage, soapy suds massage or even body to body massage?

Basically, lots of good and reasonably priced massage shops almost everywhere you go in Bangkok.  The quality of the massage depends more on the massuse than anything.

Thanks, thepanom. Although i dont comprehend the website, as i dont read dutch. However, i think my relatives prefer to hire a driver though the hotel and go places. They arent really packaged type tourists as such (not that there is anything wrong with package tours of course!).

UberBraun. I guess only in Thailand would some think i would need to be specific. Regular Thai massage usually springs to mind when i hear someone ask for a body massage. Anything else is usually specifically mentioned..in my humble experience. So yes, anyway, regular Thai body massage.

ANy other tips would be great, especially info on the Dusit Park, Iakeside PaviIIion.

For traditional "Thai Shuffle Dancing" i would suggest any gogo in Cowboy or Nana.

To be serious though, I can't help with the foot massage and dancing, but if you would like the name of a good driver that I have used before, they have both vans and cars, clean, safe and a fair price, PM me and I will send you their info.

Siam Niramit is definitely a good place to bring the family. The show is much fun and before and after the show they can see elephants and take pictures with them.
