WATERWORLD: A man casts his net in search of fish in flooded Nakhon Ratchasima on Tuesday.

PHUKET: -- Two trucks loaded with disaster relief supplies for Northeast flood victims will roll out of Phuket today, with a third set to leave tomorrow.

The first load of donations, collected by the Kusoldharm Foundation, will leave Phuket this afternoon for flood-stricken Nakhon Ratchasima province.

More donations collected by the Red Cross at Provincial Hall will depart Phuket by truck tomorrow.

The Provincial Hall center will stop accepting material donations for flood victims tomorrow evening.

From Saturday on, donations will be accepted only at the local office of the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) on Damrong Road, opposite Provincial Hall in Phuket Town.

The DDPM is now asking for cash donations only, if possible.

DDPM-Phuket chief San Jantharawong told the Gazette, “I have talked with DDPM chiefs in the affected provinces. They said they now prefer donated money because they already have a lot of donated items in store.”

Monetary donations can be made by bank transfer to:

Account name: Phuket Provincial Flood Relief

Bank: Krung Thai

Branch: Phuket

Account number: 805-0-39371-2
