PHUKET: -- The Andaman Players new musical comedy, The Pirates of Phuket, takes to the stage of Le Meridien Phuket Beach Resort in Patong this Saturday evening, offering some sage advice for anyone considering a change of vocation.

For instance, it’s well worth thinking twice before settling on “Evil Genius” as your new career path.

As the Players ably explain in this Christmas pantomime, it’s not a job that will suit everyone. Cunning plans are not easy to come by at short notice; taking over the world is a 24/7 commitment, and the profession is not conducive to a settled family life. Just ask Dr Hugh Man Pu.

According to the new stage show, “Sinister International Seductress” and “Avaricious Empire Builder” are also professions to be avoided, if Madame Hata Mari and Captain Francis Sleight are anything to go by.

And, while being a princess does have its privileges, Princess Pashtina is the first to admit that being rescued all the time can have its drawbacks – especially as you don’t get to choose the handsome prince who will do the rescuing.

So, who are all these diabolical characters? And who are the Pirates of Phuket? Make your way to Le Meridien this Saturday to find out.

A repeat performance will be staged at the Green Man in Chalong on December 26. Tickets are available at the venues. For details visit andamanplayers.com.

The show is presented by the Phuket Gazette and PGTV.
