According to the TAT, an increase of 700 million baht has been approved based on the government’s policies on sport and tourism, environmental factor, as well as the TAT’s policy itself.

With 6 BILLION Baht, why not be REALLY creative?

Simply advertise and tell everyone in the World, that if you book, one full price airfare and a minimum of 14 nights accomodation in Thailand by January 31st , 2011, you get exactly the same ticket/accomodation for a travel partner for FREE, paid by TAT!!

The Government would get discounts on airfares and hotels, so would never pay the "tourist price" anyway, and it would be great PR for Thai holidays whilst gauranteeing the money went where it would get used best, in Thailand!.

So first we immediately take off 30%, or 1.8 billion baht for some hot tea, then...

Let's take..um...another 30% for more TAT official red carpet visits to other offices worldwide, then...

Just take the money to subsidize lower airfares to get the people here faster. And do it systematically by country. Thai Airways is a semi-government entity anyway, what the hell are they doing charging so much? Oh right, to pay for the free travel for TG officials and their families. Du-oh!

Same day, same bat channel.
