Like a true coward I won't comment until everyone else has.

Link

Ghent?

Is that Valencia, Spain or Valencia, Venezuela?

Newcastle?

Which one?

In Uk there are at least two, under Lyme and on Tyne.

Oz has got one with a reasonable Rugby League side,

Must be more around, but none that I'd put in the top 1000.

Delhi? Insanity!

Tangiers if you're a pot-head - no other way to take that place.

Iquitos - pardon my ignorance - never heard of it.

And so on ....

(Now you can comment Scea ..)

Ghent?

Nothing wrong with Ghent.

Think of the Fleche Walloone and the Aix-Ghent bike races.

I can honestly say I have never thought of these things. :o

The first one sounds vaguely disgusting.

Ok, I've read some of the garbage.

It seems the Newcastle they recommend is the one in NSW

Newcastle flies under the radar of Aussies and international travellers in part because it’s overshadowed by its bigger, bolder and better-known sibling, Sydney, 150km south. But, at around one-tenth the size, Australia’s second-oldest city has Sydney-like assets: surf beaches, a sun-drenched subtropical climate, and diverse dining, nightlife and arts. Not only is Newcastle ideally located just two hours by road or rail or 30 minutes by plane or seaplane from Sydney, it’s less than an hour’s drive west to the Hunter Valley wineries,

That also of course includes the opencast coal mines in the upper Hunter Valley and the biggest coal-shipping port in the world.

Exeter missing negates the whole thing. Come to think of it, there's no Wolverhampton either...........Bogus or what?

Delhi!!! :bah:

X2 :bah:

I've been to New York. You can have all of it.

Wellington is nice, though. So is Chiang Mai. That is why I stay there. Vancouver has most of those other cities beat any day. Cosmopolitan and close to nature.

Lonely Planet has several surplus guide books for sale.

Order from this list:

1. New York

2. Tangier

3. Tel Aviv

4. Wellington

5. Valencia

6. Iquitos

7. Ghent

8. Delhi

9. Newcastle

10. Chiang Mai

are you sure this isnt the top ten WORST cities ? , how the hell did they come to the conclusion if it is true?????? ............. the mind boggles, unless they where stoned when writing it ...

Who would want to go to Newcastle - can't play rugby.

(UK Newcastle, that is)

I like Newcastle UK, me Mum's from there and I've had a couple of good holidays in the area.

Nice countryside and the small towns nearby like Hexham and Prudhoe are great.

Quality of living and great holiday destinations don't always go hand in hand...

Bern?

Zurich?

But Vienna is one of the best places I've been.

High class shopping, very friendly people, much to see.

And I was working there!

Seldom worked in Europe, but thoroughly enjoyed that tour.
