drum Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 i think i have almost masterd my 450d, very use'r friendly camera, now im thinking of moving up ,which would be the next step up,,,7d maybe, any advice ?
cdnvic Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 I've been mulling over a similar upgrade myself. Although I'm really happy with the quality of the 450, so I'm wondering if I should invest in some lenses first. Are you finding any particular limitations in your 450 that need addressing?
angiud Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 I have a 450D too and I would like to upgrade too. What I miss more: bigger sensor (I can crop more the subject) more ISO and less noise (macro photo sharp nd more DOF) HD movie (holiday and baby movies) focus regulation (to fix back focusing issues with lens)
cdnvic Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 I'm wondering if the price difference between the 60d and 7d justify the added expense.

Are you finding any particular limitations in your 450 that need addressing? i have the box lens that came with the camera18-55 ,then i brought 55-250 canon lens and a 18-135 so i think i have the lenses coverd, i dont want a camera for making movies, ive seen photo's that have been taken with 5d and 7d camera's they seem to be so much quality photo.s,, maybe i have not masterd the 450d, or exspect to much from it,
astral Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 The 7D, 60D and 550D all appear to use the same sensor, 18Mp with 5.4Mp/cm2 Your old 450D weighs in at 524g The 550D is 530g The 60D is 775g and the 7D is 820g, without the battery. All the other figures are with battery. For me a camera must sit comfortably in my hands and going from 550D - 60D - 7D is a step up in size each time. ......(macro photo sharp nd more DOF) Is a new body going to help DOF? focus regulation (to fix back focusing issues with lens) Do any of these cameras offer that facility for the user? Surely it is a workshop job Anyway, that is my 2 pennth. I use a 40D, and do not feel a need to upgrade........ yet
