The "New" Islamic Boogieman

Featured Replies

Seems as the proverbial paradigm has shifted. No longer do we yearn to disdain an fabricated political philosophy {THE COMMIES}, today the ever present indoctrination has found it's enemy for decades to come. Why are the good people so taken in by such blatant mind altering practices? If one insist upon seeking an "enemy", one needn't look as far as their own borders.......there, you will find your evil nemesis.

As you say......

If one insist upon seeking an "enemy", one needn't look as far as their own borders.......there, you will find your evil nemesis.

It is not a new idea.

Yet as you say the distraction has changed......& that is all

Fear/ Communism /Terrorism

But in the end it was still a distraction & takes the spotlight off a bigger problem.

This whole idea of preemptive wars is just that

But whoi is the 'new' enemy?

It seems that NATO is now supporting Al Qaeda

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/africaandindianocean/libya/8407047/Libyan-rebel-commander-admits-his-fighters-have-al-Qaeda-links.html

Libyan rebel commander admits his fighters have al-Qaeda links Abdel-Hakim al-Hasidi, the Libyan rebel leader, has said jihadists who fought against allied troops in Iraq are on the front lines of the battle against Muammar Gaddafi's regime

Note that near the end of the article this guy freely states that the weaponry is being moved out of Libya to other Al Qaeda posts.

Presumably for use against the very NATO forces that are allowing them to steal these items now, or the idiot politiciians who are doing their usual knee-jerk reaction to the pulp put out by the media.

And the ordinary citizens of the West will be killed and maimed once more because of these fools.

It might have something to do with the fact that the great majority of terrorist incidents around the world stem from radical Islam as well as many conflicts.

Usually plain old common sense - about what is going on in the world - transcends convoluted, pseudo-intellectual pretentiousness.

You might check your {subjective} facts there Ulysses, who is really instigating these terrorist incidents.....the world over over. Consider your history.

But regretfully the majority of politicians these days want to be considered pseudo-intelectuals (they are already pretentious) and therefore go with the 'Headline of the day' and throw any common-sense to the waste bin.

Where are the few statesmen that normally arise each generation and try to guide the yapping dogs of politicians into some little form of sanity?

We are inflicted at the moment with the Poison Dwarf in France, Osama Obama in the US, JuLIAR Gillard in Oz, and the gruesome twosome of Cameron and Clegg in UK. (Maybe better than Tony BLIAR, or miserable Gordon, but still mere cardboard cut-outs of politicians).

Sure, Obama is an extension of the Euro-ruling elite. Were you expecting anything different? SAME AS IT ALWAYS WAS.

I already have, but I tend to not trust sources stemming from miserable, failed wackos with an ax to grind. Most legitimate historians place the blame on the actual perpetrators of these terrorist actions - rather than making up wild conspiracy theories - where the blame belongs.

I'm sorry for your extreme ignoranrce.

.....and why do we require an enemy? Perhaps it's a corporate thing. A wonderland that you've become inscripted to follow..........:jap:

I'm sorry for your extreme ignoranrce.

You should be more concerned about your own.

By the way, you might try spell-check before commenting on other people's "ignoranrce" [sic]

Spell-checking? Is that all you have? Difficult to defend and extend apologies for the real evil. Your masters.

HISTORY HAS BECOME AN INVENTED FANTASY.

Consider your history.

Contradicting oneself within minutes does not exactly inspire confidence in the reader of one's opinions.

A sad story, it is.......

HISTORY HAS BECOME AN INVENTED FANTASY.

Interesting concept.

Surely if "history" is invented, by very definition it becomes fables or at worst disingenuous propaganda, and no longer history?

As we have a past and the actual events of Saturday have been documented on Sunday by at least one ( I'm sure there are more ) objective historian, what you appear to be saying is in your opinion, all history is Invented fantasy. Pretty big claim ( and ego ) for one man to have/make.

All too highbrow for poor little me. ...............Back to bedlam and relative sanity

Yes. You have it down.

Could have sworn I read this on another thread..........

"History will usually provide reasons for provocation. Most just don't absorb or sort these things out for themselves. "whistling.gif

Funny that is something that did catch my eye on news here.

While the majority of rebels shown are toting AK-47's or variants I did notice some BAR-50 calibers

Then to also hear the rebels saying all they really need or could use is more weaponry to fight their fight.

This is a reoccurring theme..... Weapons are freely supplied to the side of choice/ flavor of the month

Only later to have that side/flavor deemed to dangerous to have such weaponry. So then they need to be

dealt with/regulated/watched/invaded due to the threat they pose.

Vicious circle or business as usual?

When you've been conditioned in such a way.........how do you find find a truth?

About the only conditioning westerners receive anymore is to consume. I'm sure you noticed people aren't called "citizens" anymore. They are consumers. All the political sideshow and manufactured conflicts are in pursuit of that single goal. Nations are no longer sovereign entities so the argument that "why don't the people wake up and curb their government's behaviour", doesn't hold water. If you haven't noticed the government (most any) is only interested in pursuing the interests of its on and offshore sponsors. Sponsors who continuously shift their agendas to whichever place looks to offer them the greatest return on investment.

While I do not quite go so far as to agree wholeheartedly with zzaa....it is true that "to the victors go the right to write history".

There are few history books that document things exactly as they happened.

Tis true Harky.

Allied treatment of captured POW's in either world war, a classic case in point ( we won so we were always nice to them...right ? ) However, Ms Gabor was being a tad, well just a tad, after referring to history many time in other threads, then claiming, when it suits, that it doesn't exist. Anyway, don't wish to start a fight, can't find Mooners..............

I'm sorry for your extreme ignoranrce.

In your original post are you claiming that Communism (as in the USSR) was a fabricated threat?

I suggest that the negative personal remarks toward other posters cease.

Surely you have the ability to comprehend that the idea of a "Cold War" was purely an manufactured entity {both sides} to perpetuated an enemy....of any sort.
