I have been to Thailand several times on non immigration visas. I would like to get a one year visa, but am having problems finding what to do. I have a place leased in Thailand. I am 49 years old and am from the US. I have plenty of money and would just like to spend more time in Thailand.

Apply for a multiple entry Non-Immigrant O visa by mail or courier at the Royal Thai Consulate-General 600 Travis Houston 77002 Tel ( 713 ) 229 8733 Your purpose of visit is planning retirement. As soon as you turn 50 you can extend the stay one full year at a time.

You say you have been here on non immigrant visa before but want a one year visa? Believe what you want is a one year extension of stay if you are talking about not having to make visa runs. For that no problem once you reach 50 and put 800k into a bank account here. As that is so close other methods seem foolish but if you want now you can make investment with 10 or even 3 million to obtain. You need to check with immigration on specific details.

I have never dealt with Houston but have great luck with Denver as Hereforgood just rec'd his 1 year Multy entry O visa with no problems. There was talk that they were going to stop processing this type of Visa in Denver Oct 1st but that's not the case as I had a friend call Jan at the Denver Consual and she said it is business as usual.

Here is the Info.

Also the Email I got from Jen when I questioned her about this visa

I Sent My request to the Denver Thai Consul and before I sent it I sent an email to the Counsel assistant and told her that I wanted a 1 year Multiple Entry Visa and this was her reply

I will need the following to process your Visa request

- Passport

- Visa Application

- 1 Passport Photo

- Money Order for $125 made payable to DW Ringsby

- If applying by mail, a SASE (Express Mail preferred)

You can download the application form at www.thaiembdc.org.

Note she asked for no Letter From a Thai Company so I sent it off yesterday. I have had friends get this visa from the Denver office with out a problem.

I'm intrigued by the requirement to make the Money Order out to an individual Payee (D.W. Ringsby). Is this usual? Why is it not made out to the Denver Consular Section?

Just a thought.
