Hello,

I know it sounds stupid. I ask this because I remember I read somewhere else in this forum that if you setup company to buy land and your company is inactive, you can't get renew your WP in the following years.

I have foreign income so I don't need to work in Thailand for a living, but I need WP or Employeer status for private facts. I am married to Thai national so 1M baht + 2 thai workers should be sufficent for me. My question is, if I do nothing (maybe some small transactions), and show losses for the first year, can I renew my WP. Or, how many consequent inactive years I can renew my WP?

The Labor Office may allow you to run the company inactively for a couple of years but generally by the third year they require you to start showing income, enough to cover salaries at the very least in order to renew your work permit.
