Hotel Recommendations In Chiang Mai

Featured Replies

Hi,

I’m visiting Chiang Mai for the first time in December. I’ll be going with my family and would appreciate any hotel recommendations. I’m prepared to spend up to 3000 baht per night for accommodation. Something close to the city would be nice.

Thanks for the help,

Tompa

Top North is a good choice for families. They're central and not too expensive.

Royal Lanna is also nice, and very near the night market.

Tamarind Village is a bit more secluded but still within the old city. On Sundays the Sunday Market is right outside. They also have a nice outdoor pool and relaxed atmosphere.

And then there's the Rydges Amora, which is also very family-oriented.

I can't think of any other hotels that are very suitable for family.

Thanks guys.

I’ll check out the links and I’m sure I’ll find a suitable hotel. Just don’t want to end up in a sleazy short time hotel :o

Not been to Chiang Mai in over 6 years, but the Empress was good then. A nice easy walk to the night market.

There is a large number of hotels and at 3,000 baht per night you will be well above any sleaze. Do you want connecting rooms? Or large room with extra bed? Those are what you should probably be looking for. The city itself is small so anywhere from Night Bazaar, old city, to Zoo area would be in easy transport distance for most people. I kind of like the Lotus PSK myself as the rooms are large and connecting available and being attached to a large mall it is easy to eat without getting wet if it happens to rain.

I like the Orchid on Huay Khao, once the premiere hotel in Chiang Mai. It is adjacent to a large mall with cinemas showing first run movies in English, it is across the street from a good and inexpensive Internet shop, it has a large swimming pool, and a great breakfast buffet. There are plenty of eateries nearby. Price should be well under B2,000 with breakfast buffet included.
