There's a fair amount of aftermarket parts avaliable for the new model now, some good, some bad and then there's thispost-59428-0-84117000-1330180687_thumb.j just plain ugly :S

love the red

where the f-ck did that +70 yo rider tmax screen come from?

It came from here http://www.calsci.com/motorcycleinfo/Ninjaprod.html and just check out the side profile of it........ :S

I like the red too but think the plastic shroud over the petrol tank looks nasty and cheap when painted to match the bike

if i had a screen that size it would be clear ,dark screens at night is a recipe for disaster esp in thai when u need to check the road surface

for gaping potholes and god knows what else might be there ......

Good point, i can't think for the life of me why someone would want a screen that high?? The Ninja 650's wind protection is pretty good, even more so if the 2012 model's screen is set to it's highest position.

A friend of a friend of a friend who knows someone managed to get me these today.

I can't tell how i got them as they are destined for export only and a i was told "the first and last in Thailand"

Well given time i think they will become available here, but i'm happy after two months of fighting i've managed to get my hands on them and in my opinion the back of the bike now looks complete.

Of course if you live in America these come as standard smile.pngpost-59428-0-99728300-1330764742_thumb.jpost-59428-0-54163800-1330764775_thumb.jpost-59428-0-21371000-1330764782_thumb.jpost-59428-0-68255400-1330764788_thumb.jpost-59428-0-68018800-1330764794_thumb.jpost-59428-0-99990200-1330764800_thumb.jpost-59428-0-31584300-1330764808_thumb.jpost-59428-0-76479800-1330764815_thumb.jpost-59428-0-62683800-1330764822_thumb.j

This needs a big C.H.I.P.S sticker on it. The rider probably wears those Ray-Ban aviator sunnies... too bad the bike is red.

The sportbars from ninja650shop are finally here.

Introducing the much anticipated 2012 Ninja 650 Sport Bar Kit!

New for 2012, this sport bar kit uses a riser bracket to prevent the bars smashing against the headlight fairing and airbox cover. brackets, clamps and tubes are CNC machined out of solid billet aluminum, then anodized a durable black finish. Stainless steel hardware is provided with the purchase of this sport bar kit.

You will see a drop of 2 inches over the stock handlebars. Your weight will also be moved up and over the front wheel by 2 1/2 inches more than the stock bar. This will lead to a more direct and solid steering input, with more of the rider weight over the front of the bike as used in race applications.

The only modification needed to install this sport bar kit is a simple flip your brake master cylinder banjo bolt as shown below:

banjoflip.jpg

As seen from the photos below, the steering is able to turn from Lock to Lock without any part of your controls touching either your windscreen or tank, when properly installed.

Each kit includes:

  • All needed hardware
  • Handlebar Clamp
  • Handlebar Tubes (Left and Right)
  • Detailed Instructions

Try the dealer.

It should be no problem getting these from the dealers in Thailand. After all, getting the 2010-11 handle covers and fairings/cowlings in the US market colors was as easy as placing an order at the dealer. They are all made locally.

I've owned 3 Ninja 650R's. They are called ER6f in some markets, Ninja 650R 2011 and older and Ninja 650 (no "R") 2012 and newer in other markets, like in Thailand. The platform for both the faired and naked model is called the EX650. I have never heard them called 650F, as the the 650F is a bike made by Suzuki. I guess I assumed someone that owned one of these bikes wouldn't be calling his bike by the wrong name.

So where did you get an ER6f in Thailand? Did you import it? (Ok, I assume from the pictures you posted you mean you have a Ninja 650R but prefer calling it other names for some reason.)

I was very happy with the Bridgstone Battlax BT-021's which came stock on my Ninja 650R's. People have complained about the Dunlop Roadsmarts, which came stock on the ER6n, not being very sure footed.

Oops, I mean Ninja 650. :)

I usually refer to my bike as "er6f" as that is what i have heard the most. I used the 650f since people here talked about the ninja here...

Now... Any other rands than the bridgestones??? They are good but not the best i am sure off...

Sorry for any namecalling i have offended people with...

the Pirelli Rosso II is about as good as you will get for combined street and track use. They offer 75% of the life of the stock tyres but with a dam sight more grip at higher lean angles.

Thanks Karlos,

Where can i order them and how much? Is it possible to have a wider rear tire? Like 180/190??? Can the local bike shop swap them?

Showpow (official Pirelli dealer in Bangkok) located close to the Srinakarindra intersection on On-nut Road is the place i had my 160 fitted to my bike for 5200B all in.

The widest you can safely fit to the stock rim is a 170 and a 170 rear will set you back 7500-7800B..... If you want an even wider tyre you'll need to purchase a ZX6R or ZX10R rear wheel, together with a 180 or a 190 tyre. the whole 'big wheel' set up shouldn't set you back much more than 25-30k but other than looks it won't offer any benefits over the stock narrow and lighter tyre. With the bigger tyres (designed for more powerful bikes) you really have to be careful with the warm up times too, it could take 2-3 times longer for a 190 to warm up than the stock size equivalent.

I'd stick with a 160 or a 170 if you want a compromise of size and performance. :)

Thanks... I guess i will stick to the standard size... I will google it out and order some... Thanks.

I forgot to ask where you are located?

If you are able to ride to Bangkok i would highly recommend having Show Pow fit the tyres for you. They have proper tyre machines, proper stands, proper tools and free soft drinks while the customers wait.

I posted a link earlier but it seems to have been deleted. Google er6thailand and there are plenty of used Ninja 650's in the classifieds.
