A good article embracing several divers areas of contention, either post a comment on the commentary or post new articles that you think worthy of reading or ranting

I should have by-lined:

Sarah Sands article from the London Mercury

A good article embracing several divers areas of contention

Can they go down further than 50m.

The link went to the Independent.

But regardless, I liked the article. It was much in line with my own thinking.

Don't know what Germaine Greer went through in her childhood in Oz, but she opened a door in the sixties which has changed a lot of the Western world's thinking. (Hasn't affected life in the Middle East or South Asia, though)

Don't know what comments you want, though.

I think that the 'slut-walk' thing is a failure of either sex to understand the point of view of the other. Both have inner workings that are different, because they have different inner workings (if you know what I mean). Men will.

But the fact of it happening shows a different attitude of women, and a different respect for their views, than was present when I was a young man in the early sixties. And it was GG who kicked down the door that had previously shut women out from being opinionated. They had had the voe for fifty years in the UK, had gone to work in the forties because of WWII, but were still usually compliant with the wishes of the men in their household, as far as my memory goes. But then came a sense of freedom and '<deleted> You' from our generation that covered many aspects of life. Richard Branson started making oodles of money, Ronnie Scott opened a jazz club that, although still in a cellar, was civilised, the Establishment was opened in Greek Street to great publicity (and topless girls), my world changed every day.

And it has boomed ever since.

The achievements of the past sixty years in the West have outshone the entire history of mankind previously - in my opinion. And this is due to the attitude inpired by people like GG, even if she is now past her sell-by date with her philosophy.

The world is still changing daily and you have to be very nimble-minded to keep up with this and sort out what is worth keeping, what must be discarded (politicians??).

The BIG story I recall about "GG" was when she used the horrendous profanity, "Bullsh*t" in a public plave in New Zealand.

Of course, she was prosecuted.

Ugly beetch, but hadda admire her intestical fortitude

It's an interesting read, Mossy. Thanks for posting it. But, I frankly don't care WHAT women do or don't do. It no longer concerns me or affects me in any way. Germaine Greer had her day as a man hater and she caused the reactions on both sides of the ledger. Now she has to live with it. It's always interesting to read or hear someone else's views on a topic some might not even think of. But, everyone makes their own bed and they have to lie in it. Everything we do or say has consequences. What I have observed personally is many people don't want to be responsible for the consequences of their own actions.Germaine Greer seems to be one of those people. I have no idea what caused her bitterness, but she now comes across as a dried up shrew... Just as are the slut marches and nude bicycle rides.

Germaine Greer and her Female Euneuch is so old fashioned and out of date.

It's about time she came out of the seventies.

Perhaps i did learn to flirt with my dad, who the f cares? I wrapped my daddy round my little finger..... But also learned alot from him. That's what little girls did in my day.

The first man you meet is your dad. He taught me to tie my shoe laces, and school tie. And manners and how to do the twist. I miss him.

About time some of those bar girls were caught.

‘Bar girls’ nabbed for spiking drinks, robbing Phuket tourists

Patong Police chief Arayapan Pukbuakao (in black jacket) questions the women as the rest of the officers involved in the arrests look on.

All those guys who did NOT get paid "teamoney".......LOL

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/australiaandthepacific/australia/8863885/Record-number-of-Britons-leaving-Australia-and-heading-home.html

Record number of Britons leaving Australia and heading home

They have been dubbed "ping pong poms", the British immigrants who tire of their new life in Australia and head back to the UK, and their numbers are growing.

Interesting about the disechanted Brits' stats. From previous reading, I'm also aware that not a few try Oz, go back home after a year or so and then again return to Oz. (Maybe they haven't heard of Phuket?)

Reading that article most Brits go home because they miss family. Makes you wonder why they went in the first place if they can't exist without mum and dad nearby.

One person went back because Australia's ocean was too blue! She missed the North Sea.

Truth be told, they probably missed the illegal immigrants.

We have them living next door. You stuff 'em onto Christmas Island.

I liked this quote in the 'comments' section.

However, that being said, Thai beauties are often the most idiotic of women because all their lives, beauty has gotten them all they want and they have never developed any other skills, such as thinking. Lets hope nothing serious ever happens on board Nookie Air, help may not be at hand

That is an interesting comment, because I think it does interest you what women do or they don't do.

December 3, 2011
IMPORTANT NOTICE TO PHYSICIANS

Recent studies conducted

on"aphthous fever" (for which we

have just received conclusive results)indicate

that in certain cases this

can be transmitted to humans. We foresee a

possible contamination

in mostAustralian States. Cases have beenreported in

Melbourne(3),

Sydney(2), Adelaide(4), Hobart(1), Brisbane(2) and

more

recently in Canberra(1).

It was observedthat the subjects

examined were regular consumers of wine and spirits. Most(97.6%) of the subjects

would encounter

serious problems with their vision when having gone

withoutalcohol for 1 to

2 days on average.

Extended periods

without alcohol would seriously

affect the individualsreading capabilities.

The subjects would also feel a

trembling sensation. In extreme

cases, individuals would start to

hallucinate and see coloured specks

whenstaring at an object for extended

periods.

If you encounter any such patients having

these symptoms, please contact the Crisis Centre in

Canberraimmediately.

Our research to date has

resulted in a cure, consumptionof alcohol every day for 3 months!!!

Please pass this document on to everyone you believeat risk!!!
