For 15k Baht, a Honda Wave, 5+ years old, probably with drum brake on the front. In 6 months, you'll be able to sell it for 15k baht.

If you really stretch and go for 20k, you'll get a Wave or Mio (auto) 3-4 years old with front disk brake (significantly better stopping distance than a drum), a 5 year old Honda Click (auto) or a Yamaha/Suzuki/Kawasaki 100/110cc version of the Honda Wave, 3-4 years old. All these will sell for very close to 20k Baht in 6 months time.

Whatever you chose, at 15-20k Baht, bikes are reliable and not depreciating rapidly at all.
