'No Porn Or Prostitution': Islamic Extremists Set Up Sharia Law Controlled Zones In British Cities

Featured Replies

I believe these nutters call themselves Muslims against the Crusades (though this is not in the DM link). Perhaps someone should tell them that the Crusades finished hundreds of years ago.... and we've given the Holy City to the Jews!

Without doing any googling (so I may be right off the mark), I believe that Dubbya announced to the world that he was launching a crusade when he invaded Afghanistan.

When the VIT then-president said "crusade", there were definitely religious connotations that some Muslims took on board.

"Given the Holy City to the Jews"......therein may lie another gripe of Islamists.

The word "crusade" doesn't have religous implications for everyone. Maybe Batman "The Caped Crusader" is supposed to be some type of Christian soldier? It was the wrong word to use at the time since we were going after people whose minds were still in the Middle Ages.

It certainly has religious connotations when used in conjunction with the word Muslim. The root of the word is crux=cross.

The "secretive' Beth Din only handle civil disputes and both sides must agree to have their case heard by the Beth Din. No cutting off hands or stoning adulterers to death. :whistling:

JEWISH COURTS

The Beth Din hears only civil disputes

The court can only act if both sides agree.

Both parties to the dispute must be Jewish

Which is exactly what sharia courts would be allowed to do if they were ever to be set up - Anjem Choudry notwithstanding. The man is a windbag. He's all fur coat and no knickers. If it wasn't for the Daily Mail with its shit-stirring agenda you'd never have heard of him.

Sharia law
and
It is a very fair and just way of the law, when applied correctly

please tell me you are not being serious here? how can stoning someone to death for Adultry be ' Fair ' or stoning someone to death for believing another ' faith ' be fair ?

You are discussing the sentence - not the crime and not the verdict.

As I stated in my post (removed for brevity from this response) the punishment for certain major crimes is set out in the Koran and thus is out of the hands of the judges. If someone does commit such a crime - they know what will happen if they are caught and found guilty. So they - like most criminals - have assumed they will not be caught.

If there are extenuating circumstances - if someone steals food because they are hungry, for instance - then this is normally taken into account and the person will not be found guilty of stealing, but of some lesser matter, or not found guilty at all.

With regard to apostasy, this is one of the 'serious' crimes in Islam and has a mandatory death sentence. In fact it does not come under Sharia law, in my opinion, because the person has put themselves outside the rule of Islamic law by the act of apostasy, and therefore any true believer is permitted to kill the apostate without trial.

You will better understand this if you had lived through the sixteenth century in England, with Henry VIII breaking from the Roman Catholic rule, but still retaining a Catholic church, his successor Edward being under the influence of Lutheranism and Protestantism in a fairly extreme form, killing off Henry's prelates, then his sister Mary returning to Roman Catholicism and burning all the Prods, then Elizabeth returning to her father (Henry)'s viewpoint and slaughtering Mary's churchmen. All from one family, all Christian, yet all utterly opposed to each other.

Christianity was then around 1400 years old, as is Islam now. Time to have a sectarian power struggle.

Is the call to prayer considered music?

compared to Riyadh the prayer calls in Jeddah (during my time) could have been considered as soothing classical music. in Riyadh it was like wolf packs howling.

There are competitions held for the best prayer-call chanter - used to be shown on Saudi TV1 every year.

Also in Indonesia and Malaysia they sound different. Same words, totally different intonation.

Your picture of 16th century England is a bit odd, HB! Edward did not kill off the Henrican prelates, though he imprisoned some (e.g. Bonner of London). Cranmer (Archbishop 1533) and Latimer (Bishop 1535), for example, remained at their sees throughout Edward's short reign. Cranmer was instrumental in producing the Book of Common Prayer in 1549, revised in 1552. Both Cranmer and Latimer were executed by Mary. Bonner was restored to his see by Mary (and was one of the chief persecutors of the Protestants), refused to take the Oath of Supremacy under Elizabeth in 1559, and was imprisoned until his death in 1569. Others were removed from their sees, but not executed. The later executions of Jesuits towards the latter part of Elizabeth's reign were for political as much as religious reasons, as they were working for a restoration of the Catholic Church with Mary, Queen of Scots, on the throne.

Not a very lovely picture, I agree, but, I hope, more accurate than yours.

Well said. He is just an insignificant wannabe bully. Ignore him and his silly posters.

It would probably sound better if WHAM! sang it (but not at 5am)

"Wakie up, let's hit the mosque-mosque, go praise the Lord when you've washed off your facemask."

"Last Eid-al-Fitr, I bestowed you a goat. But the very next day, you gave it away. This year, to save me from tears, I'll give it to someone special (special)."

And what did this guy do to help his community during the London riots.

He's living not too far away from Tottenham Hale.

Rumour has it he was running protection on the local dole office to make sure he gets his benefits on time.
