Thai Smile Airline

Featured Replies

OK, this appears to be an AirAsia like spin off from Thai Airways.

I wonder if it will replace some of their existing routes?

The hoped for profit seems a little optimistic... B)

So now Thai Airways has Nok and Thai Tiger and now Thai Smile all seemingly designed to compete with Air Asia. Not sure of the wisdom of that many sub brands but then again I have seen dozens of airlines come and go in my lifetime. My motto on air travel is very simple and has served me well for many decades: Don't expect too much and you'll never be disappointed.

I think that these airline off shoots are just" jobs for the boys'' operations and will not compete in any way with Air asia or Thai Orient.

Did anybody here ever book a flight in Thai airlines plush offices near to the night bazzar?

I went in there recently out of curiosity and after parking in a near empty car park, I went inside to find 4 staff members busily engrossed in their computers.

After a few eh, ehs I got one of their attentions and she didn't looked too pleased to be dragged away from her facebook game.

After an intense search and her insistance that the airline code for Dublin was not DUB, I walked out to let here go back to her facebook game.

When I first came to Chiang Rai I wandered in thinking it was a bank.

Thai Airways flights are quite easily booked on line.

It will be interesting to see the online presence as Thaismile DOT com is a mini market in the UK.

No doubt lots of people will type it into the menu bar and end up with a selection of fish sauces instead flight destinations :whistling:

No doubt the cleverer ones among us will be able to decide which service we require... B)

I hope that they will continue to give add ons for International Flights.

I don't fancy having higher prices with TG ,then discover they offer separate fares,check-in ,with all the hassle I have with Air Asia as they don't interline.

What is wrong with the existing CIQ system:it works you check in at home airport & it gets you thru with one ticket & means that you go thru Customs at you home airport.

I hate it when they try to "modernise" something that works already, because the modernisation usually means that it no longer works

Sorry "Luddite" rant

I don't do much flying anymore but last time, Sept 2010, I found a cheap ticket from BKK to Stockholm roundtrip with Quatar Airways. The good thing was that I could check in from Internet 24 hours before so I could sit at home and see all available seats and choose the one I wanted. When I came to Suwannaphumi there was a special desk for "already checked-in" and it took less than a minute to leave my bag and get my boardingpasses. Beside this desk there were 80-100 people waiting in the ordinarie "checkin" lines. Same story in Stockholm when I left for BKK.

Maybe this is just normal these days but that is a good service.

:D:blink::D

Thank You Svenivan,this was encouraging

I hope you are right for us too

It is like the banks,I just get "cashed out"with the continuous changes

I will try to keep Smiling
