August 24, 201114 yr In Kan, November for 4 days and plan to play some golf with 3 other middle age hackers! Did one round at Evergreen last year and very enjoyable and may play it once again, plus one other course in the area. Already had a look at one of the Thai golf course review sites but the comments are not very up to date. Due to commitments one days play will have to be on a weekend which usually means a hike up in price. Any golfers in Kan would like to share their choice of courses?
August 24, 201114 yr Maybe read my comments on Nitchigo...course is fine...Tues and Wed 200Baht...just look out for tour groups from Korea. If you play shortly after 6am you will be ahead of them.
August 24, 201114 yr Author Thanks - spotted your post just after I posted my topic!!, we have large numbers of S Koreans who use Narai Hills in Lop Buri province but they tend to all come over in their winter months and not all year round.
August 31, 201114 yr Last week played Nichigo, Evergreen, Mission Hills and Blue Sapphire. The first three are of similar quality and good courses. Blue Sapphire is also quite nice but very difficult with water on about 15 holes and tight fairways. Challenging for good golfers and probably more frustrating for most of us as overly difficult. They have 36 holes and perhaps the other 18 is more friendly but I doubt it. I would see what deals are on offer and pick two of the first three based on any favorable pricing. Note last week all green fees were under 800 baht as very quiet and I saw few others on the courses. Also Evergreen and Mission Hills are in the same general area while Nichigo is NE of town on the way to Erawan Falls and Blue Sapphire is north of town so depends on where you are staying and what is the cost of transport.
September 1, 201114 yr Author Thanks, we have decided to play Evergreen and Blue Sapphire. I have also read reports of how difficult the Ocean or C course at BS is for average ability players. We always go to Kan every year in November and the guest house we use has a mini bus for taking us to the courses. Some good discounts it appears at this time of year, we are playing Narai Hills (Lop Buri province) next week, green fee, caddy fee & cart for 1050 Baht.

Hello, Me and my husband visit Thailand every year and stay in Chiang Mai. It is his birthday in Jan and I am looking to book somewhere as a suprise as we are both very keen golfers. We have visited Kanchanaburi before but only to visit the River Kwai etc. Could you please give me some ideas on best places to stay and golf courses. Are there hotels on site of any golf course? How much will the green fees be in Jan ? We will be flying from Chiang Mai to Bangkok and then get the bus into Kanchanaburi so won't have any of our own transport. Is it easy enough to get around? Do you need transport? many thanks in advance. Paula
