Ipstar Satellite Internet Equipment

Is there any portable or light version, and how big is the dish or antenna?

Can a foreigner on a non-B visa subscribe?

Past postings indicate the service can crash under rainy or adverse-sunspot conditions. I have used it at a small Internet shop on the beach at Koh Maak (Trat) and on a sunny day it could go offline for several minutes; they charge Baht 100 per hour. Any other reports on reliability? Thanks all.

1) I believe that some smaller versions of the ipStar Sat Parabolic Dish Antenna will be in use soon. Cannot confrim at this time.

2) A foreigner on a Non Immigrant Visa can apply (see http://www.ipstar.michelonia.com/order.html ) for creteria and required documents

3) I have used the system for over two years and only lost the signal under extreme weather conditions. Yes the signal can be lost, but, if properly installed this should not be the case.
