I have been using Thai Visa on my current laptop and with my current ISP (True) without problem for a number of years, for the last couple of days the pages are not loading properly. Information from the site is clearly there but not formating.

Thinking it might be my laptop I have tried to access TV from my girlfriends computer, with the same result.

Nobody else seems to be reporting this problem, so I assume it's my end, can anyone advise?

Thanks

I just had, last couple of days, a problem pop up at work where I have our DHCP server set to use True DNS. Had similar symptoms and switched to Google DNS (8.8.8.8) and the problem went away.

Thanks for that, yes I'm hoping it just goes away but it's been two days now. I should add that everything else loads and works perfectly.

In that case probably not a DNS issue. I suggest clearing your cache and restarting the browser. BTW, which browser are you using? 2nd, have you tried another browser to see if you have the same problem.

//edit - I would still try changing the DNS address though just to be sure.

I use IE but I have tried it with FF with the same result, I have just cleared my cache and that hasn't worked either. Not sure how I change my DNS address.

^are you getting problems with facebook plug ins and google ads plug ins slowing it down and freezing the loading?Sometimes happens with me and hitting F5 reloads the page OK.

Edit: Formatting - how I actually typed the above is as follows

^are you getting problems with facebook plug ins and google ads plug ins slowing it down and freezing the loading?

Sometimes happens with me and hitting F5 reloads the page OK.

I am having the same problem here, started a couple of days ago. Taking forever to load any Thaivisa pages. No problems with anything else, just Thaivisa.

What ISP are you using? What browser? Are you using any 3rd party DNS provider like OpenDNS?

Have you tried with another browser?

Posted (edited)

Same problem.

True. Firefox. No DNS (or just True DNS). Same problem with Chrome and IE.

It's been happening for a day or two. Mostly not loading all the images ("Hot Topic").

I had a brief respite this morning, but it's back to loading slow.

Why is every page waiting forever for static.thaivisa.com?

Can you please do a traceroute to static.thaivisa.com and paste in the result here?

In Windows, use the Dos window and type: tracert static.thaivisa.com

I would not know how to do that, would be needed to be explained more to me.

Up very top is ( windows internet explorer provided by Yahoo ) home page internet is google.

Every web site comes up very quick and Thaivisa home page but take long time to load and it seems to take a long time to go from topic to topic, reply, edit etc, clicking the mouse just brings up top ( not responding ) everytime.

I'm just told it's because it's a big site.

Thanks, lets try something. I believe True DNS is the culprit.

In your Windows Network settings please change primary DNS to: 202.170.126.90 and restart your computer. Did this resolve the problem?

I didn't need to restart my computer ... I just refreshed the TV page, and everything loaded properly and quickly.

Thanks...

Interesting ...

Nothing changed from earlier. Just did a page refresh. Problems again.

I removed the DNS mentioned above, and everything works.

I imagine it will turn around again soon, and I'll have to put the DNS in again. I'll let you know.

Thaivisa has nothing to do with the Nation website. It's totally different.

Does it matter, has ever there been a fault caused by Thai Visa, its a Loose Face thing, its allways someone else. I go to another P.C. and the Faults still there.:whistling:

And probably the same ISP and DNS being used. I use TV at two locations and two different ISPs and don't have these problems and I'm a heavy TV user. I use FF primarily, but for testing member problems use Chrome and IE9. The VAST majority of times it is an ISP issue, proxy issue, DNS issue or routing issue which is out of the control of Thaivisa.

You keep pointing fingers here when you really don't have a clue. As for there ever been a fault with Thaivisa, of course there are the rare database issue and a reset/re-index is done that clears it and in quick time and it is announced with an apology for the inconvenience. In other words, we have nothing to gain by hiding problems. Lose face, you can't be serious? <_<

Another thing to try after changing DNS IP is to open a command window (type cmd in the search programs and files) and enter the following command. This will clear old DNS information.

ipconfig /flushdns

BTW - My page loads average 2 seconds or less at both my locations.

I dont need to have a clue. its only Thai Visa out of thousands of hits i make. If my Car doesnt go, i take it back..They cant be right all the time. I dont know a Comand Window from a French Window, im a user only.

Seeing as no one can explain anything to my posts I guess maybe it's just my computer being considered an old one so for now I'll just put up with the 30 sec to 40 sec delays, gives me time to put the kettle on.:D goodluck starwander.

It appears it's not just True that has the problem.

I have to keep swapping between True (my default) and the DNS given to me above (202.170.126.90). Sometimes one of them will last for a day or two, sometimes it's only a couple of hours.
