Grout Sealer Used In Thailand?

Featured Replies

I just had driveway and living room tiled however my contractor did not finish it off with a grout sealer.

Is grout sealer a widely used practice or my contractor was lazy?

If sold here what is the brand name it goes by?

They did my walls in the bathroom, but not the floor, strange isnt it.

will just diy as at least then it can be done at a time when its convenient, if i find some grout will post what i got.

I found it difficult to find grout sealer because DIY places insisted that it was not necessary with modern grouts

They havent even grouted my floor in the bathroom, only glued the tiles down.

If tiles mounted on cement have seen them use cooking oil.

Weber is just one of the brands readily available all over Thailand that sell domestic "Grout Sealer" with a label in Thai and English. It is not overpriced, it is widely distributed and has clear instructions in Thai.

if not sealed does grout deteriorate over time with exposure to moisture?

presently with the rain there is a rainwater accumulation on the terrace above my kitchen and there is now a significant leak in the kitchen ceiling (right above my cooker, goddamit)...I always figured that with time and the weather and a 'breathing' structure that there would be little cracks that one could do nothing about and that there would be moisture ingress regardless...

if I applied a grout sealer to the above terrace tiles (there is concrete underneath) would this help the ceiling leak in the kitchen below? I also know that an improved guttering system to prevent the rainwater accumulation is the best approach...

would grout sealer help in this instance?...what say ye...
