A Doomsday Date For Your Diary! World 'Will End On Friday' Says Preacher Who Claims The Apocalypse Has Arrived

Featured Replies

Doomsday preacher Harold Camping was left a laughing stock when his prediction that the world would end on May 21 failed to materialise.

But the 90-year-old Californian may well have the last laugh after revealing that date was in fact Judgment Day - a spiritual moment when the righteous would be chosen - and simply a warm-up for the Rapture which happens exactly five months later.

This means that Friday, October 21, will mark the start of the Apocalypse - when believers will be whisked away into heaven and hell will be unleashed on earth.

And cynics should be warned, as the Rapture Index - a monitor of current affairs for the frequency and intensity of end-time signs mentioned in the Bible - is at an almost all-time high.

It certainly feels that way in Thailand.

Not a follower but I find it interesting that his beginning of the Apocalypse

Friday Oct 21st is very close to turn dates of some cyclist type forecasters.

Financial cycle types have said Oct 20th is a big date ....Well it is close enough so I guess we will see ;)

No....I find it interesting is all.

I have not been in the markets since 2000

But I still follow them daily. I also have an interest in cycles & tech traders.

Again not as investment advice as I no longer trade. But again because I find it interesting.

So as I said we will see......Kind of like reading a horoscope at the end of the day & looking to see if it

was even close :)

I think on a much smaller scale. I think I'll wait until after that date to clean the house, mow the lawn and give the dog a bath.

Since I am not a big believer in these things, though, I'll forego splurging on the credit card.

We're supposed to have an early Halloween party on the 21st. Maybe we should move it up one day just in case this nut is right for a change.

So, if the Rapture was in May, and hes still around I guess that means he's doomed along with the rest of us?

If at first you don't succeed, try, try, try again. But I don't think he has much longer to try again.

It must be really annoying organising a party then finding out you're not invited to it

Cyclist type forecasters?

I'm assuming he means cyclist-type forecasters, like Lance Arrmstrong does Nostradamus, but I suppose he could mean cyclist type-forecasters - "the next one's going to be an 'e', then a 't' and a carriage return...". To be honest I can't see Lance Armstrong or David Boardman stooping to those levels, although I'm not so sure about Graeme Obree.

And to be fair, if you ride a bike - maybe even more so a motorbike, you have to be very alert to what's coming up ahead.

Actually I like cycling & have competed for years in both road & triathlon

But the cyclist I am speaking of is folks like Martin Armstrong author of the Economic Confidence Model based on an 8.6 year business cycle theory......Not Lance

Maybe you knew that? But I doubt it
