Recomendations For Good Dermatologist

Featured Replies

Need to see a good dermatologist in Pattaya that is famaliar with falang skin.

any recomendations??

Don't visit Bangkok Pattaya Hospital for this, I had a bad experience with their skin clinic there... Daylight Robbery and drugs marked up 1000%

Dr. Anna Jaruwan at Bangkok Hospital Pattaya is probably the best dermatologist in Pattaya. She spent most of her career at Stanford and is a Fellow of the American Institute of Dermatology. Needless to say, her English is excellent. The drawback is that she is very busy and so it can be a bit of a wait to get to see her. She also seems to charge more for a consultation than any other specialist I have see at BHP. But if you want the best, she's the one to see.

The Doctor I saw was Kitikhun Roongruang, I could not understand a word he said.

He prescribed 2000 bahts worth of medicine and creams initially which I thought was expensive, so I checked with a local Pharmacy and could have got identical products/quantities for 200 Baht.

He had me back twice for pointless visits and then prescribed what seemed to be a lifetimes supply of drugs/cream for another 4000 baht which I declined to pay for at the cashier, citing I knew the actual cost and I wasn't going to let them rip me off.

I've always had good service at the BPH and no real complaints but it seems to be a whole different ball game once you enter that Cosmetic Surgery and Dermatology building..

I agree. She is the best I have encountered anywhere with my 50+ years of skin problems, Fees are high for Thailand but low compared to California. You get what you pay for. You don't have to buy drugs and other supplies at the hospital. Fascino should have most items. Ask Dr. Anna.

2nd road soi 4 the Hospital there has a good dermatologist dept, used them several times.

I have atopic eczema on my legs and would like to see her. What should I expect to pay for a visit ? More than 1000 baht?

A year or so ago she charged me B800.

For treatment, like lasering or whatever, the hospital will charge a fortune. Unless you have insurance, better get it done elsewhere. I would also get a second opinion first.

I see her once a year now, having had a BCC successfully removed by her 2 years ago. She gives my skin a thorough check-up, answers any questions I may have about new blemishes, lumps or whatever, then uses liquid nitrogen to burn off any pre-cancers she finds (there's always some on my forehead, all those days spent in the sun decades ago without wearing a hat!). It took around 15 minutes and she charged me 2800 Baht, I think. Is liquid nitrogen very expensive, I didn't think so?

To put that in context, I also see an orthopaedic surgeon in the main building once or twice a year for my arthritis (Dr. Thongsuk, who is a great guy). Including a blood sample for uric acid level, the last consultation with him cost 800 Baht. As one of the posters mentioned, the 'Beauty Centre' pricing does seem to be expensive compared to the rest of the hospital. Maybe I'm missing something?

Another option for you would be Dr. Natapat. She is a US board certified dermatologist and has an office in Royal Garden called Apex Profound Beauty. I have been seeing her for 7 yrs and she is very knowledgeable and speaks perfect english. She does alot of botox and other things like that but that is where the money is and the good Dr.s in the US do the same. She is only there 1 or 2 times a month as she has a big practice in BKK

What about Pattaya International Hospital? I think they are a bit cheaper than BPH?

For something like eczema, try Dr Sureeporn at PIH.
