There are several, here's one

And an English language one too, or maybe just a website for now, named Chiang Rai Times.

Looks very professional.

Any idea who is behind this brave attempt?

Funny that you ask about it,as why I asked about thai written newspapers in town,is that the owner of Chiang Rai Times-a Canadian, who have a house here, want some local info, and asked me about thai written newspapers in town,so he could translate news from them to.

He is on facebook to whit Chiang Rai Times.

And as said abowe, there is several thai written newspapers in town-I got help from one of the young girls in the family.

I was impressed with the professional look too - I think its initial publication was announced here - and was even more impressed that someone had developed a business model that could make a success of an English-language newspaper in CR. When I checked a few weeks later, I noticed no current news, which I guess is one of the big challenges. I wish him all the best, but I think that if he ignores intellectual copyright laws and work permit requirements then it might be a short-lived venture.
