Frame Or Engine Number Search

I just bought a Yamaha SR 400, and would like to know if its possible to do a search on the frame or engine number, to confirm that everything is origninal?

Anyone know?

Does it have a green book?

If so, check that the book matches the bike. Then do a search for Yamaha frame numbers, different models will have different codes.
