Can You Crack It?

Featured Replies

I've worked with and attended courses by Signals guys in Australia.

What they know and do is way outside my capabilities. I wouldn't be able to crack that if I tried for the rest of my days.

I went to college with a bloke who eventually left the sea and applied for a job at GCHQ. He called and asked if I'd be willing to be a referee if asked. I said yes. A couple of weeks later I got a very strange phone call from a man from the Government who wouldn't actually tell me who he was or which bit of government he worked for. He asked me all sorts of questions about my mate. He did get the job. I've never heard from him since

Misleading post title! (I was going to say, 'Yes - I crack one at 6 o'clock every morning')

When I left the jolly military, CO called me in and said fancy a secret squirrel job. What's the catch said, No catch here's a train ticket to Cheltenham and a load of dosh for a Hotel and beer. Just go to this address Monday morning and sit an exam...........

Couldn't be easier thought I.

Got as far as writing my name, and that was that.

My mate wasn't a great brain but, like the rest of us, he knew the Morse code. I've often thought that spending 8 hours a day transcribing Morse in Cyrillic would be particularly soul-destroying.
