Anyone know ?

I had stayed @ My House on Ari for years and it has been knocked down and becoming a condominium building now , this was a great location away from the tourists and right next to the Sky Train with a lively food market every evening.

It's a little higher at 1100 - 1200 baht/night but the Maxim Inn on Soi 7/1 is a nice place for the money and only 2 minutes from Nana station.

There's the Lilla hotel a short walk from Prakhanong.

Several friends stayed here. Starts at 890THB.

The staff is nice, the hotel itself is pretty new and while the rooms aren't huge, they are clean and comfortable.

Another one opened nearby on the same concept i think: the Mix Bangkok. They advertise pretty trendy-looking rooms at 1090 THB, just right down Phra Khanong BTS station.

I was wondering about the MIX, also the new little Korean restaurant nearby. With the big new condo set to open and five more within the next year or two, Phra Khanong is in for some big changes. Enjoy it's unique ambiance now because it will be gone forever before you know it.

There are apartment buildings where rooms are available on a daily basis, on Sukhumwit Road either side of Soi 38, adjacent to Thonglor BTS. The last time I enquired the rooms were in the region of 800 baht per night. Soi 38 is renowned for its street food, and both the apartment buildings are but a hop, skip and a jump from a BTS station.

Not far from Ari is the Sapan Kwai...Just behing Big C Sapan Kwai, you can find a lot of service apartments and Hotels in Sapan Kwai Soi -1 and Soi 1/1. The rooms start from THB 535 NET Per Night. The one I prefer to stay at is in Soi 1/1. The rooms are ok but not too fancy. Nice Decent Hotel Named NICE PALACE. Check on Google.

A couple of Night Clubs and farang Bar is just around the Corner.

Miami Hotel @ 900 baht per day (Sukhumvit Soi 13) situated between Nana & Asok BTS station.

Robinson department store, Villa Market, just a few short minutes by foot. There is even a

7-11 store within the Miami Hotel.

no hard feat at all-but most of you seenm unable to think that BKK is biogger as just Sukhumvit.

Around the Sapan kwai stop are many HTLs in that range-also long time ''aprtmt-even on the main road just along it (PKN or so-across from the BigC. Also at Onnut several places-though they are not right next to it-behind the old Carrfr=now BigC.

JUst 2-3 mins away from the other end at WgWnYai is a HT favored by Malays, its on the AirAsia bookingsite.

And dont forget the BTS is extended now to near SamRong-plenty more choice along this outer end, Sukh sois 101 or so.

There's the Lilla hotel a short walk from Prakhanong.

This was basically what I am looking for , but a quick phone call and they were fully booked.

And more leads how to rent those by the day places around Saphan Qwai area - that is well enough away from the tourist

ghetto for me.

Or a few hundred meter from the bangkok city hotel is the bangkok city suite hotel, a little bit older, but a good hotel, incl. breakfast single baht 850 double baht 900

Sam's Lodge on Sukhumvit soi 19 is a pretty OK, basic but comfortable place. We're staying there now while we go apartment hunting, and while it's by no means the best place in town it's 2 minutes stroll from Asok (for both the BTS and MRT). 1,200 a night. Good fast wifi, not pretty but pretty clean.

rfukata's suggestion of the Miami is great for location. I stayed there a few days last year and it's in the perfect spot. The only problems are that it looks like a Soviet apartment block circa 1975, there are always unpleasantly rotund western old fellas lounging by pool like beached whales, and they charge for the wifi by the hour (at a rate that goes beyond silly).

If you like the Suk 11 area we usually stay in Smart Suites up at the top of the soi. Nice rooms, very clean, mini fridge, incredible showers and fast wifi, and it's far enough away from the bars that you're not walking through second hand street food and beer all the time. You can always get a room on a day's notice through Agoda for a little over 1,000 baht (don't book through the hotel's website, though, as you'll end up paying double).

I can recommend the huai kwang area if you want to be close to sukhumvit but not in a farang ghetto. Lots of live band restaurants, lifestyle malls and other fun stuff to do around.

My hotel ratchada, quick google search. Think rooms start at under 800 if you book via them.

Seems like the bad reviews are mainly due to it opening before it was fully completed. Had a few friends stay there when they visited and it seemed pretty good. There is a legit spa massage place next door and it is like 100 meters to the MRT.

Between bts station thong lo and soi 59, on the other side of the street there is a cheap hotel. About 1k per night, or 13k per month. Since op stays for years I am sure that he can get a substansial discount, I did when I asked for a 12 month contract.

Soi Kasem San seems to be the best location for this budget. In front of National Stadium BTS but 5min walk to Ratchatewi or Siam, so you can catch both the Silon and Sukhumvit lines.

I have never stayed in any of the hotels but friends say they are ok for the price, some starting at 600bhts for room with aircon and private bathroom.

You have many like White lodge, Wendy House, Reno hotel..etc

Bumping old thread

Hotel 1000 baht near MRT

Jimmy,

If you've tried Booking.com and Agoda.com and done an area search you might try airbnb  and short of a Google.com  search you may not end up with what you seek.

Maybe try a guest house search.

1st hand reports work well as tourist reviews can be BS.

I stand by my usual recs of Siam Privi and Sea of Love Mansion...if you absolutely have to be on Sukhumvit, Nantra 39 is about the cheapest that doesn't have half the guest in bunk beds, sharing a pigstye toilet.  Smallish rooms, but above average breakfast..not Vegas style, but way better than white toast, instant coffee and margerine.
