Picture Of Electrical Box In Mil House

Featured Replies

Last year I posted a query about this, but was unable to provide a picture.

There are actually 2 boxes, the green Select Light and a grey box with a big red button.

So what do you experts reckon?post-56220-0-23624400-1330858662_thumb.j

ah reckons dis be lectrical high tech.

The upper unit is an RCBO, "safe-t cut" type.

The bottom left appears to be a standard RCBO. The one on the right appears to be a standard MCB.

As Electau notes, there is certainly RCD protection.

Next task, see what each breaker controls so you can determine which circuits are actually protected.

Oh, and press the 'Test' buttons to check the units are actually working.

Thanks for the replies.

In the original set up, the lower box was wired to the Green box above it, and the 10 amp circuit breaker on the lower right was the sole circuit breaker to the entire house.

After I attacked it, there are now seperate breakers for plugs and lights, and if I remember correctly about 8 breakers in total. I also discarded the grey box, as it didn't seem necessary.

Yes, the test button works on the Green box.
