Upcoming Us Presidential Election

One of the bills pending before the Senate is to approve the pipeline from Canada to the US. Since the pipeline will be paid for with private funds, there is absolutely NO IMPACT whatsoever on the federal budget, except to generate more revenue for the federal sinkhole in Washington and an estimated 25,000 permanent jobs.

Of course, some of Obama's core voting block might be a little unhappy with it.

Wrong. Have you heard about environmental concerns?

http://mediamatters....keystone/182345

A calculation of the direct jobs that might be created by KXL can begin with an examination of the jobs on-site to build and inspect the pipeline. The project will create no more than 2,500-4,650 temporary direct construction jobs for two years, according to TransCanada's own data supplied to the State Department. [Cornell University Global Labor Institute, September 2011]

Uh, Media Matters is a George Soros funded group.

Soros gives $1 million to Media Matters

So much for not wanting to get in the way of an avalanche.

George Soros announced that he has given $1 million to Media Matters “to hold Fox News accountable for the false and misleading information they so often broadcast.” Fox commentators frequently describe Media Matters, a frequent Fox critic, of being funded by Soros, but Media Matters has long denied that connection.

In today’s joint announcement, Soros denied it too – at least until today.

Because of the 60 vote scheme, the democrats can't pass it. The right wing has totally blocked Obama's intentions and now is calling him a failure. THEY did it to him. That kind of darkness should never be rewarded.

The "60 vote scheme" has been in place in the Senate since 1919. One of these days you are going to have to accept that it is here to stay and live with it.

The real problem is Harry Reid is afraid to call anything presented by this administration for a vote because he fears some or even many of his Democrats will vote against it.

Remember Obama's budget attempts that received NOT ONE VOTE FROM EITHER PARTY when they were voted on?

Here is an article you might want to read about the pipeline. It is not from Media Matters but from Bloomberg, via the Washington Post.

Keystone XL pipeline would add link in U.S.-Canada trade relations

By Steven Mufson, Published: July 6, 2012

From the article...

"Even so, many trade experts say, boosting U.S. imports from Canada is good for the U.S. economy because for every dollar of exports to the United States, Canada buys 85 cents’ worth of U.S.-made products. That includes goods such as U.S. iron and steel, automobiles, refined petroleum products, fruits and juices, plastics and the supersized Caterpillar dump trucks that haul away oil extracted from the tar sands of Alberta."

You wouldn't be talking about the dude who owns the railroad that currently transports all that oil down to Texas? The railroad that would likely go out of business if a pipeline were constructed? He's the same guy who sides with Obama on taxing the rich more. What's his name again? Oh, yeah, Warren Buffet. Nothing corrupt going on there for sure. rolleyes.gif

If you don't mind, please PM me with details how much you get paid to be an unwavering Obama shrill on Internet forums. I'd like to get a similar gig - except supporting the other guy who wants to help the country. thumbsup.gif

Romney wants to help the tiny elite. If you're in the tiny elite, by all means, vote for him.

This little development could split some of Obama's guaranteed base. I support her because she is probably one of the best minds around.

Biden vs Rice? No contest.

ROMNEY NARROWS VP CHOICES; CONDI EMERGES AS FRONTRUNNER

Thu Jul 12 2012 19:30:01 ET

**Exclusive**

Late Thursday evening, Mitt Romney's presidential campaign launched a new fundraising drive, 'Meet The VP' -- just as Romney himself has narrowed the field of candidates to a handful, sources reveal.

And a surprise name is now near the top of the list: Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice!

The timing of the announcement is now set for 'coming weeks'.

More here: http://www.drudgereport.com/flashcm.htm

Too bad she isn't at the TOP of their ticket. Cynical me thinks this is a ploy for the women's vote to ACT like he's serious about Condi. He'll never get the black vote, Condi VP or not. In other words he won't pick Condi. Anyway, isn't she a lesbian? A Mormon running with a lesbian? Not gonna happen.

Also note: Condi is PRO choice. Like I said, this is a political game to make it LOOK like she is being seriously considered.

"Rubio is a ploy for the Hispanic vote!!"

"Rice is a ploy for the women's vote!!"

It just twists your panties that not all Republicans are old, white men, doesn't it?

btw - Condi should be the logical choice of blacks over Obama. She knows their civil rights struggles in a way Obama can only read about.

I like Condi Rice and I like Marco Rubio. I would be very happy if Romney would choose either one.

MOST republicans ARE:

White

Older

Men

Pro Life (as they call it)

Most means not all.

This is all a game. Mark my words, Romney's VP will be:

White

Older

Male

Pro Life (as they call it)

Also, remember, people vote for the TOP of the ticket.

I agree Rice is a more attractive candidate than Biden.

Neither is running for PRESIDENT.

Also don't forget Obama's likeability numbers are soaring, Romney's are in the toilet with no sign of budging. Americans elect the more likeable choice, and this time, it isn't even remotely close.

You can bloviate until the elephants come home about how southern democrats used to be racist, they certainly were, but that was many decades ago, and the modern and established home for MINORITIES of all kinds is the grand old DEMOCRATIC party!

Including:

Blacks (overwhelmingly)

Latinos

Asians

Jews (overwhelmingly)

Muslims

GLBTs (overwhelmingly)

In the USA add up all our minorities, and you've got a solid MAJORITY. Just let us vote! Stop disenfranchising poor and minority voters.

The first three years have been a total bust, and this President has the balls to ask for more time. In other words, let him have eight years of failure instead of four.

That's it in a nutshell. thumbsup.gif

This is all a game. Mark my words, Romney's VP will be:

White

Older

Pro Life (as they call it)

So, what you're saying is that Romney's VP will look exactly like our current VP Joe Biden?

Also, remember, people vote for the TOP of the ticket.

That myth was blown out of the water in 2008. then more people were worried about Sarah Palin's qualifications as VP than they were of Obama's and he was even less qualified than Palin. ZERO administrative experience (and it sure shows now).

... and the modern and established home for MINORITIES of all kinds is the grand old DEMOCRATIC party!

GLBTs (overwhelmingly)

Holy crap! You mean Romney might lose the highly sought after GLBT (hold the mayo) vote!! OMFG!!! Seriously, that tiny minority is concentrated in areas that will vote for the Democrat anyway - unless someone figures out how to run Reagan again. Hmmm, maybe they should consult the Democrats, I'm sure they've manged to get Ronnie to vote for the Democrats more than once since he passed away. Maybe they could figure out a way for him to run for office? I hear they almost succeeded with JFK but had to pull the plug on the operation when they figured out that in 2012, the 1962 JFK would be considered a Republican.

I love how the right wing finds humor in disrespecting gay people. No wonder they are the party that shamelessly, openly, brazenly opposes equal civil rights for this minority. Cynical and morally wrong and they have the nerve to posit that they are the moral side!

Anyway gay people, like Jewish people are MUCH MORE LIKELY to vote and be political activists than the rest of the population. The also CONTRIBUTE MONEY to political campaigns at higher rates. It is not true that small minorities like Jews and Gays are always irrelevant electorally speaking. They are very important, both groups, in FLORIDA.

About the proud black Lesbian Condi Rice. She's not going to be VP. You're being teased and you fell for it. Silly.

Condoleezza Rice downplayed vice presidential rumors to Israeli friend

According to a report on the Drudge Report website, the former Secretary of State is at the top of Mitt Romney's list of potential vice presidential candidates.

http://www.haaretz.com/blogs/diplomania/condoleezza-rice-downplayed-vice-presidential-rumors-to-israeli-friend.premium-1.450955

Regarding Rubio, he also won't be picked. But in the long run, he scares me. I think he might be the anti-Christ.

The gay vote is largely ignored because they are small in number and because so many of their spokespersons constantly spew silly left-wing talking points that few find rational. They need to get rid of these wacky types in politics as it taints the gay rights movement.

Jews have a lot more clout, but many are turning on Obama because they know that he is ruining the economy and because he wants to throw Israel under the bus.

Wrong. That is a right wing fantasy. Jews will be on board for the democrat. American Jews are LIBERALS overwhelmingly. Life long LIBERALS that don't bend with the wind like silly swing voters.

I'll ignore your insult against gay people. As I maintain people who are against civil rights for all American harbor prejudices.

I agree Rice is a more attractive candidate than Biden.

Biden is very articulate for a heterosexual.

JT:

You have now ruled out Rubio and Rice as Vice Presidential candidates.

Why not tell us who it WILL BE, rather than who it WON'T BE.

Unfortunately for Americans, foreign policy is very low on their priorities when it comes to electing a president.

Not really, it's more that it is low on the priority list of most Americans that American foreign policy pleases Europeans.

I have ruled out Rice. He can't pick her. Impossible. She is pro choice.

There is a small chance he may pick Rubio, but probably not.

He's not as good for the Latino vote as you think. Most Latinos are resentful of CUBANS, thinking correctly that they get unfair special treatment, and they are correct. Rubio would not move the Latino vote much in Romney's direction.

Also Rubio is the male equivalent of Palin. No, he is not a DUMBO like Palin but he is a charismatic STAR and he would UPSTAGE Romney. As such, he is an UNSAFE choice, and Romney is Mr. Risk Avoidance all the way.

Who said anything about the Jewish voters not being a factor? They are. The GBLT group is not. Sorry if you consider that an insult but do the math yourself. Well, that is, get someone who won't twist and spin the facts to do the math.

Do the math? Are you JOKING? Jews make up 1.5 to 3 percent of the US population depending on how you define a Jewish person. Gays make up AT LEAST FOUR percent of the American population and that does not include bis and trans people. Both are small minorities but please stop insulting gay people. I know this is a sport of right wing people but it won't wash here.

I think that the real problem with Rice is that the media would rip her apart. Her lesbianism and pro-choice stance aren’t going to appease anyone. The more serious media would paint her as being a George Bush brownshirt and SNL would lampooned as a Sarah Palin in blackface.

Are you saying whoever the Republicans choose will be picked apart by the MSM and SNL, or just Rice?

We already know what Maher will say. Something obscene, demeaning and totally useless.
