Using Mobile Phone As Gprs Modem

Featured Replies

I'm using my SE K500 as a GPRS modem without any problems apart from that I have to install the modem every time I switch the computer on, before i can connect to the internet.

Am I doing something wrong, or is that just the way it is ?

Hi Totster,

How do you connect to the phone? Cable or Bluetooth ? It bluetooth make sure you bind the phone to laptop with a perminent connection. If USB then make sure you used the same port each time. Not sure if that will help but it was my problem a few months ago.

Thanks for the reply VaioLord,

The phone is connected to the PC with a cable into the same USB port everytime. Works fine until the PC is switched off. When switching back on I need to first install the modem, then I need to make a new GPRS connection to the internet, the saved connection tries to dial.
