December 26, 200520 yr I plan to go to UK in Jan and I'd like to know if it's possible to apply for a visa after new year since it would b the same month... Just curious cos when they granted a visa. I saw the date on a sticker would b the 1st of the following month always... Lets say, If I apply in Nov, the visa would cover from 1st Dec to 1 Jun... I'm not sure If I could make it within this month cos it's nearly new year and not sure if they close til new year... Please, can anyone help me? Thanx

Thanx <{POST_SNAPBACK}> They are closed Monday through Wednesday this week (Dec. 26, 27, 28). Should be open Thursday and Friday but note that you cannot collect visas on Fridays, although you can make an application between 07:30 and 10:30. Mondays through Thursdays you can apply from 07:30 - 10:00 and collect from 15:00 - 15:30. I'm not sure about New Year closing but they will certainly be closed Jan 02 and possibly 03. DM

The embassy also states that they are attempting to reach a decision on all visit visas on the day an application is made, so you should be told either yes or no the same day. Scouse.
