Finally got True to install the correct new HD box. First install was with a GOLD package box which we didn't order. When I first placed the order for the box I was told that ASN was on CH 113, Platinum package. I have what now appears to be the correct box / package with 17 HD channels, but no ASN, no CH 113! Box jumps from CH 112 to CH 124 which is the start of the HD channels. To make matters even worse I had them include the Disney package for our six year old which seems to be missing. Asked the installer if he was sure he was giving us the correct box and all we got in return was a blank stare. Have I been "TRUED" again? Forget trying to call. I mean what there is looks great but I only did this so I could enjoy watching NFL / NHL games as well as getting our daughter off our backs about not being able to watch Disney. Looks like it's going to be a trip to their HQ and attempt to speak with someone who knows what the Hell is going on, that is if that someone exists. Talk about rocket science....Can't wait for my first bill!

The HD box can provide any service, its not a different box for Gold or Platinum, permissions are done at the head end by True and can be changed in real time. Have you called customer service, I've always found them helpful and there are usually good English speakers. (0-2725-2525 and follow the prompts.) Have your account details handy, see you have new install therefore no old bill so info should be on your installation form.

First, try turning off/unplugging the HD box for a few minutes and then powering it back up, to include removing and reinserting the subscription card after it has completely powered up again. Be sure you unplug the box's power; just going to Standby is not a complete power-down.

Second, try a Signal Reset of the HD box (True has been running how to do this on Channel 12 for weeks now for their various boxes, but only run in the Thai language…below are some instructions in English)

1. Press Menu on the remote

2. Select Setup

3. Select System Setup

4. Select Signal Setup

5. Enter code 2321 and press Submit

6. Press remote OK when next screen appears. After a few seconds the Signal Strength and Signal Quality bars will turn pink in level indications with a high pitch squeal which means the Signal Reset is done.

7. Press OK/Next, which will take you back to the System Setup menu and you will see the TV channel playing in the upper right hand window. You are done…just press Exit on the remote to get out of the menu screens and back to the full/normal TV screen. You are done.

Third, try a software/firmware download for the HD box

1. Turn off/unplug the box for a few seconds (do not just go to Standby, completely power down the box for a few seconds)

2. Plug the box back-in (do not press the power button on the remote), in a few seconds you will see “Booting” on the box's display panel, as soon as you see "Booting" quickly press Exit on the remote and then enter the code 2485.

3. If you pressed Exit and entered the code quick enough the box will start downloading and updated software/firmware, which may be the current version you have installed or may be a newer version. DO NOT interrupt this download process which will take 5-10 minutes…let the software completely download & install 100% per the download progress bar. As mentioned, this can take around 5-10 minutes. When the download process reaches 100% let the box continue to reboot itself until it gets back to displaying a normal TV channel over the next 15-30 seconds. Once again, DON’T INTERRUPT any of this process. When you start seeing the normal screen after 5-10 minutes and if you don’t have picture/sound, remove and insert the subscription card....still no picture unplug the box and then repower...but normallly you shouldn't have to remove/reinsert the card or do the power reset. You are done. Note: I’ve done this on all three of my HD boxes at the recommendation/instructions of TrueVisions when I had problems with 2 of the 3 boxes when initially installed a couple month ago….and I even redid it on all three boxes after the TrueVisions switchover on 16 July just for gee-whizs.

In closing, hopefully, I got the steps right for the Second and Third instructions above. I'm on cable TrueVisions and hopefully it works the same way for folks on satellite TrueVisions. I just did the Second and Third instructions on one of my boxes while writing this post…the box still works fine. If trying all three things above and you still don't have have Ch 113 ASN then it's time to call TrueVisions again. Above 1 thru 3 recommendations should cure most problems with the HD boxes after the recent switchover....if it don't cure the problem, time to call TrueVisions as you probably have a bad box/card or TrueVisions has something setup wrong in your account profile. I have the Platinum package and three HD boxes...Ch 113 is on all three boxes. Cheers.

Actually went to their main office this morning. Lots of people there with similar problems, wrong package, missing channels, and or dead boxes. Although I had to wait for two hours once I explained our problem a rep took our box in a back room, came back within a few minutes with a new box. Said the box was improperly encoded thus we were missing other channels which included ASN and Disney. Gave us a new invoice with new box info and out we went. Got home and all is working just fine. Am very pleased with how they are attempting to please everyone. Don't think True anticipated the number of new customers or the number of problems people are having.

If your out in the provinces your ignored to a large extent. Personally I love to be able to walk into the place when someone on the phone was extremely impolite and said I as a paying subscriber was stealing their signal. May take to box to someone tomorrow and tell them where to put it.

Well I found TrueVisions very UNHELPFUL. Now we can no longer get the pirate service which was at about the right price for a monthly pacjage wiht the True Channels I wanted to find out about the packages available and for what rip off price they were asking. SO I went to the true website for the satellite packages and hit the "En" option at the top right of their screen. CRAP total and utter ignorant crap. Some English but mostly all still in THai which I cannot read after 10 years here and think I never will be able to like most falangs. This put me off totally as if a company cannot give both English and Thai then there is something wrong with their efficiency especially when they have an English option button that is just plain useless !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seems they need lessons in how to run a business properly.

Rang the number suggested ThaidDown and after 30 minutes of getting nowhere and being passed form one service staff to another speaking various degrees of understandable English, I was finally told someone would call me back to help with my problem as a potential new customer (well was potential but not now). Guess what!! After 2 hours STILL no phone call despite being told they would ring back in a few minutes or so !!!!!!!! I am going to opt I think for a different satellite service (a pirate one doesn't bother me either if that is all that is on offer for a decent package and a fair price, as at least those guys when you ring them are more helpful than True). If, for example, you look up the Astro channels and packages you can see exactly what is on offer and you can get all the channel lines ups with proper English headings in clear English text !!!!!!!!!!!

True Visions come across as total and utter CRAP to any falang trying to get information, despite True also being supposedly a COMMUNICATIONS organisation. So is it any wonder many folk go elsewhere for some good numerous pirate satellite services and at a much more realistic and fair price. True have a very bad monopoly in Thailand, causing the totally rip off pricing schedule, which I thought decent capitalism normally outlaws in the spirit of fair competition. True really NEED competition and soon too, and also stop their apparent rip off pricing (well seems rip off to me unless I can get a list of packages and costs in clear English text to see if this is, or is not, the case).

TRUE sucks from my experience today and deserve to be hacked and pirated all the way if you carry on like this. Despite your size and resources and proclaimed efficiency, you seem unable to even run a proper dual language website and are unable to even ensure you have an efficient staff available to properly assist potential new falang customers who simply cannot get the info from the website in English. Then maybe everybody can get the facts and details easily and you won;t come across as USELESS encouraging folk to look elsewhere for their satellite TV service !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
