Any Cat Lovers Out There?

We have a beautiful stray male orange tabby with orange eyes who is exceptionally affectionate and not at all shy or skittish hanging around our townhouse. We'd love to take him in but have already taken in three strays (one of them a female with two kittens in tow). Anyone out there with a soft patch in your heart for a feline?

We're located in Min Buri, about 20 minutes north of Suvarnabhumi airport and would be willing to deliver him to anyone interested (within a 150 km radius). Please PM me if interested in acquiring a life-long, loving friend.

How old does him look to you? Have you observed if he has the habit of peeing everywhere (marking territory)?

From his size he appears to be a very young adult, perhaps a year old. If kept indoors he would need to be neutered. A house cat will not pee indoors as long as their cat box is kept clean. If left to roam outdoors male cats do have a habit of marking their territory but that would not be a problem. I walk my two males each morning and evening and they do pee outdoors but only in vegetated spots.

While you are looking to find a home for the cat, it would be wonderful if you can take him to be neutered and vaccinated. I pay between 2800 to 3800 baht per cat, (I have a feeling I am paying too much); but having him fixed and vaccinated will help you find a home for him much easier.

I would take him, but I already have nine cats that I have rescued and two of the cats were pregnant bringing my grand total of cats to a whopping seventeen!!

Wow, BJ, seventeen. I understand now the use of "Big" in your user name. Big hearted. Always happy to see others looking after homeless little puddin' pies. I once heard that God created the cat so that man can pet the tiger. Doesn't seem so far fetched to me.

I'll have to ask the little woman about the cost of neutering but from what I recollect it wasn't nearly what you have paid (you should negotiate a discount for quantity ). But I would be willing to take the little guy in for neutering and shots if that would secure him a home.

I strongly second the suggestion to neuter this cat as soon as possible. Many Vets these days (especially the ones who actually care about animals) do the procedure at a much lower rate than the one quoted, if it's a stray.

This will reduce the strong likelyhood that he will sire a bunch of unwanted litters, while he's still out there. Also, it will prevent him from getting into fights with other males where he could get bitten and contract some viral infection like FIV. At the same time as neutering, he should also get his basic vaccines.

Regrettably I'm not in your area and have a full house already. But I hope someone will open their heart and home to this lovely Tom.

I have 4 cats(2 strays and 2 rescue) anyhow, the rescue bengal cat, indoor cat, was fine for first few years, now she is peeing anywhere she feels like, including the litter box and i have 4 litter boxes, yet she will sometimes go in the litter box, sometimes on the curtains, sometime on my computer and so on.

All 4 are neutered, 2 boys and 2 girls and she is the only one who does it.

Have spoken to a Vet, have tried everything, but she still does it.

Your Vet is definitely taking advantage of you. I paid for my boys 800 baht and for girls 1000 baht.

Where abouts in Thailand are you? If you in Pattaya or near, drop me a PM and i can take you to the Vet i use. I can only praise him in all regards from prices to knowledge and skills.

Nope, nothing wrong physically, had her checked out, all 4 litter boxes are cleaned regularly, pretty much within minutes after being used.

She just been territorial and marking everything, as i said she goes in the strangest places, like on my PC, or Fax machine and its not the same places, its always a different spot

Animals, unlike people, are practitioners of unconditional love. They provide me with that free-flowing love and are a touchstone to sanity as well. My experience matches UG's. Never been a problem unless the cat box was neglected for too long. I will say, though, that once they get in the habit of peeing elsewhere it's tough to break.
