Hi everyone,

So let me explain my problem, I am leaving my appartment soon (in two weeks to move to another place), and few days ago, while having a party at my place I woke up with a big hole in my wall.

It is a plaster wall and I don't think it is very hard to repair, but I have absolutely no idea of how to fix it. I am pretty sure that my owner will charge me much more than the real cost so I would like to find a way to fix it with some honest workers.

Does any one has any name or adress to give me ? (and any idea of the cost)

Thanks a lot !

Rob

Take a picture and post it up...

If you are friednly with the taxi motorbike guys near you, ask them to recommend someone they usually know someone for all occasions.

Agree 100% with Murf.

One of the best things about life in Thailand is that it is very easy to get the odd jobs sorted.

You may find yourself having to pay a bit of "Farang Tax" but in 99% of cases it's worth paying for getting the job done well and quickly.

Alternatively you could always post a pic on the DIY branch here (if there is such a thing) and I'm sure you'll get plenty of advice there.

Hi Murf,

Thanks for the advice :)

However I am kind of afraid that the motorbike guys won't get me as they speak barely no english :)

But I will still give a try if no one knows anyone in particular

Must have been some partyw00t.gif - how big is the hole? if it's small then it's really easy to fix. if big then you need to fill it with something first and then skim it with plaster. Is it a thick wall, thin wall? more info needed.

What area do you live? It is an easy repair for anyone who has done dry walling work. If you live you near or have any friends that live in a condo or apartment complex, you can just ask one of the maintenance guys. They will almost certainly be able to repaint the wall for you too. Make sure they know that your goal is to hide the damage from your landlord.

Also remember to please invite me to your next party ... they sound like fun ;-)

1) Fill gap with anything such as newspapers, anything to get the outside as flush as possible.

2) Get a load of premixed poly filler from Home Pro. Apply it liberally.

3) Us sand paper on it when dried to flatten it out.

4) paint it in the same colour.

total cost - 300 baht if you buy the kit sparingly.

It's not that hard. Also, when done, try to move a piece of furniture in front of it. Job done.

I'd think twice about this. Asking one Thai to hide something from the landlord is likely to risk a very high quote and if you decline then he will tell the landlord about the hole and the fact that you are trying to deceive him.
