hello all....

any advice would be appreciated on this ,...

need to get my laptop repaired urgently, but ideally would like to take it somewhere, i can trust to do a good job... im in the central bkk area ??

IT city?... anyone know of a good place to take it to there??

in case its of any help,.. its a compaq presario laptop , getting on for 2 years old now ...

the problem is with the ac power point..... ive had problems for a while, the power pack is ok, the problem is with the actual point on the laptop , that the ac power pack goes onto... the little metal pin...has been loose, and now its come off completely!... so its a case of opening up the latop and replacing with a new one..i would imagin!......sorry if waffled on a bit, but guess it may help with any replies

I've had this problem too. I got it fixed at Pantip, in the repair section on the bottom floor. There are a series of stalls that do repairs. Look for the cleanest stall and clean cut owner. I used him before. He fixed the problem in 1.5 hours. He has to re-solder the AC connection. I can't remember his name, but you'll see what I mean when you look over the other stalls. I paid him 2000 baht ($50 US), although I'm sure you can get it done much less if you haggle.

i just hope the stall holder hasnt grown a beard, or had a night on the town.. ill be there all day trying to spot him!!

..........would be kind to post your experience here and locate the place at Pantip, as I am sure there are many people in BKK who would be happy to know a reliable person or company to do PC / laptop repairs or upgrades or whatever.....
