PATTAYA:--Armed robbery at Horseshoe Point home results in terror and theft.

Horse shoe point, far from the light of Pattaya city centre, is a quiet, respectable neighbourhood where retired Ex Pats live alongside local nationals in peaceful harmony. Adjacent to lake Maprachan, the area is rarely the scene of violent household crime, but this weekend saw a violent house robbery.

Two armed men climbed a security wall to enter a property in Freeway Villas, A luxury poolside home belonging to 55 year old Portugese lady, Mrs. Suzette Lage.

Not normally on her own, Mrs. Lage felt comfortable and secure in her home of many years, despite her husband having flown back to Portugal to take care of their restaurant business.

As the homeowner tidied her home and took out the garbage, so the two assailants pounced on her and dragged her back inside the comfortable home, where they held her at gunpoint as they demanded all the valuables in the house.

Taking diamonds and jewelry, reported to be worth more than 500,000 baht, they also grabbed credit and debit cards and cajoled her into giving them the PIN numbers.

Poor woman what a traumatic experience for her, I hope the MIB investigate this correctly, it could have ended so differently!

where they held her at gunpoint
cajoled her into giving them the PIN numbers.

I don't think much cajoling was needed staring down the barrel of a gun?

Jesus, is cajoled the right word? Por lady must have been terrified

It will be great when they try to use the ATM's and are caught on video. Poor lady. :(

She must be terrified ,,we had a break in when the guy ran away when confronted by my son and two mates ,but my wife was so frightened for weeks afterwards ,we had to fit more locks ,motion sensor lights all around and now she makes sure the alarms are set even if we are upstairs on the computers ,goodness knows what it would have been like if this had happened to her.

Hope she recovers from her frightening ordeal and that the perpetrators are caught and punished.

Poor lady. Hope she gave fake PIN numbers anyway.

Poor lady. Hope she gave fake PIN numbers anyway.

Yes she did !!

Quote from the original report.

Despite being scared witless, the lady was smart enough to give them false numbers, which, at least, protected her bank balance.
