george Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 A Bangkok friend is dead I am sad to relay a message from Kurt's family. Kurt has passed away. He was back in Texas with his family at the time and not in any pain. I am posting this photo of him that he really liked that Richard K Diran took at the closing of The Silver Dollar earlier this year. Rest in peace dear Kurt. danfields Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 One of Bangkok's true characters who will be missed by many. For those of you who didn't know him, a quick google of Mekhong Kurt will educate you in a respectful manner.

nuwatmat Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 sad news,22 will not be the same without him
Greer Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Oh this is sad news indeed - I used to keep in touch with him over the years but had not heard from him for a while. Gone is another of the true characters of Asia - not just Bangkok and Thailand, but the whole region. An educator and communicator, and a friend. Rest Peacefully mate.
RudieTheFoodie Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 Many great nights in the Silver Dollar. Lovely young lady called Apple was my favourite, but the mama san (with the glasses) was a legend. Rip Kurt

Boudak Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 Sorry to hear he's gone. Read his column when it was available. Was introduced to him once in the Texas bar but didn't get a chance to chat as he was busy on his laptop. RIP
