Prachuap Khiri Khan To Chiang Rai Moving

Featured Replies

I have a good friend who lives in Prachuap Khiri Khan which is about two hours south of hua hin...so a LONG way from Chiang Rai.

He is giving up his life there and is willing to give me all of his "stuff" for free. The stuff consists of bed, refrig, tv, tables, sofa, chairs, motorbike, bike, washing machine and various other household all of it almost new.

BUT...i have to figure out how to get it all from there to my house in Chiang Rai. It would not all fit into a pick up truck so need something larger.

So..the question is: Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to at least get some kind of quote for someone from CR to drive down, pick it all up and bring it back? ...OR....how do you get some kind of moving company biz to give a quote and does anyone have any names/contacts for that kind of service.

My friend is in the hospital and cannot really assist and he really doesn't know hardly anyone in prachuap.

If it doesn't cost a fortune to get it here then it might make sense as I can use all the stuff in my house.

Any suggestions much appreciated.

I agree with VF, Nim See Seng is a very efficient operation gathering and sending all sorts of wares all over the country.

Believe it or not though, you may also make some enquiries at your local Post Office. I have seen motorbikes covered in "clingfilm" being sent from Chiang Rai to Phuket, so halfway down the axe-handle shouldn't be too traumatic.

Final choice from me is that somewhere near the market in PKK there will be a stand of trucks offering their services "for hire" often these ranks include larger than normal pick ups and even six-wheel panel vans.

Good luck

unfortunately arranging a truck in PKK is no good as my friend knows nobody there to ask etc, plus he is in hospital and really doesn't want to deal with it other than here's the key to the apt pack it all up and it's yours.... and i don't want to have to go there to deal with it from that end...so ideally would be to find a big truck to go from CR to get it and bring it all back..

does anyone have contact info for Nim see Seng as that may well be the answer? I assume they are in CR? I can have my thai friend give them a call and see what they say ....

i have used post office BUT again would have to go there and figure it out plus stuff like king size bed etc probablly not going to work....

thanks for contact info and all the suggestions...

I used this company when we bought our house here on Koh Chang. We hired a 10 Wheeler which is a big one and it cost me 20,000 baht door to door with insurance. It was loaded with a lot of gear to set up our 2 bedroom house. By the sounds of it you wouldnt need one that big.

Anyway thats the cost from them from Chiangrai to Koh Chang for a 10 wheeler.
