House & Garden Show @ Impact, Bkk Nov 3-11Th

We're planning our second house and this looks like a worthwhile show. I visited the Architect's show when we were constructing our present home and more than paid for the trip from Chiang Mai with discounts on bathroom fixtures and discovered some useful lighting and finishes into the bargain. I'll be there all day on Nov 6th and Nov 7th in the morning - if anyone here would like to meet up at the show, send me a PM.

It's amazingly difficult to find details about events here - you'd think they want to keep them quiet! It's organised by the magazine of the same name (Baan Lae Suan) and they have some details on their website. Otherwise there is a short bit on the Impact calendar and plenty about last year's show if you Google it.

I made a mistake btw, the show finishes on the 11th, not the 12th.

An early report from someone taking part in this show indicates it's not filled with products of the calibre you would find in the magazine of the same name. It's too late for me as I've made my travel arrangements but for those who may be planning a trip maybe second thoughts are in order. At least one excellent joinery company from Chiang Mai though.

I'll post an update on Tuesday when I've seen it.

Having spent the best part of yesterday looking round, I'd say it's worth the effort. There is some nice furniture, some good door and window suppliers, a huge SCG stand and plenty nick-knacks to buy. Also a good chance to compare laminate & vynil flooring and see a couple of interesting pre-fab house concepts. It's a full day job.
