The Newspaper we cannot name + many other sites and Owners Clubs.. Thailand will be supplied from Malaysia and Indonesia, therefore cutting out the Full Import Duty.. eg: already here in showrooms is the New Elantra and the start price is now only 749.000 baht.

You seem to be complaining about a lack of service and parts but you owned a couple of impreza's. Aren't these grey import cars? I'm not surprised that parts were expensive and hard to get. If it was a WRX that would also mean a high performance model and needing specialist knowledge to work on them. The parts would need to come from Japan and be subject to full duty.

The XV is a much more mainstream car for Subaru, parts are cheaper, from the service items I have had done anyway it seemed reasonable.

Anyway, Subaru is not a mainstream brand anywhere in the world. That is one of the reasons I like them.

Same as my BIL's one - he loves it.

Took ownership on Christmas day, love it too!

Drove crvs and fortuners frequently on long trips (company cars). My other car is a captiva diesel. The subaru beats them all in handling. Power? Don't know yet. Still 500 km on the clock and running it in. Surely won't beat diesel power but already have the captiva if craving for it. Interior is bland and all the effort of subaru has been on the drivetrain. Chose it over the newer look (and 2wd) of the cx5 2.0. Also quite happy of the 10% discount and the 4 years 0%.

Going to get killed on resale and aftermarket parts. Hopefully you live close to a dealership as there are so few. Yes, I agree diesel is far more desirable...

as for the resale value, not an issue. will keep it for a looong time.

I have to admit the BRZ for 2M neat is interesting...

As for what will they do? Probably nothing. With only 7000 units sold, their focus is going to be on attracting new customers, not retaining the old. The fact is, it probably doesn't impact resale value that much anyway - they weren't fantastic to begin with.

I can see why the owners are upset. The XV was at the top of my list and I really wanted one but looking at other cars above and below, I felt the car was over priced for the features and options that it had. I felt it should be around 1 to 1.1 to compete with the cars with similar features and options.

At the current price it would be the one I would have bought.

If they would bring the diesel version of the XV with at least decent power...and priced at 1.1-1.2 they might gain some market share.
