Yeah having watched the replay many time I see Marc was way over his head & had nowhere

to go.

If not for Lorenzo being the berm Marc would not have even made that turn.

At Lorenzo's initial stand up of his bike Marc had his foot down & could not even start to lean the bike in.

So yeah I can say it is racing & things happen but if this is going to be a regular thing

with Marc then someone will get hurt. That is fine too if it is him alone.

But if he takes another rider out of a season or worse that would be terrible.

Hope he wises/grows up

So what's the verdict?

What did you think of Marc's pass on Lorenzo ?

The utube's were withdrawn.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/motogp/22420902 some interesting views agree or not, doesn't matter.

I find it interesting on other peoples takes but anyway here's my verdict :-

I always download so watched it over again and a re-run from another angle, Marc had got in front started going a bit wide because of his entry speed and Jorge lean and barged into him from what I see in slow motion.

If it had been the other way round Jorge would still be the accuser if anybody should grow up and be a man about it's Jorge, maybe his forgotten that MotoGP is about being a racer against others.

Well done Marc, never seen anybody thrown a bike around in such a manner in a long time.

Roll on France. w00t.gif

Well I haven't watched it over and over but what I saw I'd have to differ with you Kwaka, except for the roll on France bit, oh and also the bit about Jorge, what did he expect Marc not to have a go

Be that as it may racefans don't forget the superbikes are on tonight, 4.30 and 8 thai time. Tom is on pole fighting out the championship with Laverty who is second on the grid, the fly in the ointment Guintoli 3rd on the grid still leading the championship. Marco is about 5th, Checa is still banged up from last time so he wont be there, looks like his season (and Ducati's) is a goner already. Rea is still trying. Leon who, where?

Yeah I have to agree too & as I said in racing yes anything can happen but..........

In this case Marc dove into a crack that was not big enough or soon enough

To do so he had to go over his head & braking was so late that when he should have been leaned in he was

still not only bolt upright but his left foot on the ground, so no chance to tip in

If at the moment of impact you stop the video & draw an arrow from where their fronts are pointing

Marc is pointing completely off the track & Jorge is headed down the track.

It would be inevitable to clash & the only way not too would have been for Jorge to throw it away & head off the track

if he truly knew Marc could hang that turn.

Marc could not hang that turn & if not for Jorge acting as a berm Marc would have been completely off the track as he had basically given

up when he put his foot down at turn in time.

Actually everyone has seen the head on shots & it is not as good as a long shot like this one IMHO

When you see this one you can see Marc drove it way off line

Look at 10-11 seconds & see where Marc finally gets turned & only because of the berm Jorge provides

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h1SzDh4kAts

Even the upright shots you can see his foot is still on the ground & he is almost off the track well past tip in time

But its all cool in love & war & if it is a one off no problem

I do not agree with many who are like sharks with blood in the water & think it is great for the sport

for this kind of thing to become the norm though.

There can be plenty of excitement at 200mph with skill there need not be

mad dash attempts & riding over ones head & hoping for the best....

At least not when others lives & careers are also on the line.

Also yeah I am hoping for WSBK tonight....although last couple of times I tried to stream it was shut down.

Like last nights session was But hope it will be up & if not re-runs will be there wink.png

Looking forward to Next weeks too

Rossi & Cal needs to perk up next & we will have a real mixed GP bag!

First vid is a good angle funny how deceptive things look from different angles but like this one the best. biggrin.png

#!

France should be interesting.

Well Tom couldn't win, strange that Kawasaki has presumably been depowered to make the tyres last but he is down on both Aprilia and BMW, Monza is a power circuit and it told.

Guinters doesn't seem to have the pace to stay with Laverty but keeps racking up points. Melandri will be a bit too inconsistent I feel and unless Sykes can get up there and win on some of the twistier circuits the championship comes down to Laverty or Guintoli, with Davies a remote possibility. Everyone else daylight.

How did you like that detour Sykes took off track & back on into teh same place?

The announcers were funny the way they said......Oh Dear....shouldn't he have fallen into 4th :)

Posted

Not sure of the rationale but I thought it was tolerated as long as you didn't make up a place but I see what you mean if the guy in 4th is right behind and Tom makes a mistake, misses his braking marker whatever, shouldn't he lose a spot. A rider would not be able to fairly judge such a penalty himself so it would have to be race direction and signs etc, too hard, easy way out - no penalty.

I know !

I kind of hope he pulls a great race out there in France

Maybe that would give him some bargaining powers

Does seem weird for them to be screwing with him but I also do not know the history

of him not signing for 2 years before .

Posted

Vale will emerge as we all know him this weekend.

Long live the king!!

Scott will take the honours also.

Well Happy Birthday soihok !

About Lemans I would have to say it was a bit of a surprise to see

Dovizioso get front row.

Good on Ducati though & getting more brands into the final fight makes it all

the better for us spectators wink.png

Crutchlow nursing a small fracture near his shin

will see how he goes.

Well you'd be brave to tip against Marq, I don't think I will, still looking forward to whatever monkey business him and Jorge come up with (if any). Val, well from 8th he'll probably be 4th at the end of the first lap end of chapter.

Cal had the big crash, but I think a good race coming up still, Dovi not normally a qualifier in 3rd could be a surprise.

Redding looking good.

Yeah the rain made it very exciting.

I initially thought Marc was done & could not handle the rain/wet but he proved me wrong & clawed his way all

the way back.

The Ducati of Dovizioso impressed me in Qualifying & then all thru the race so did Hayden really

especially not plowing into Rossi when Rossi went down.

Then of course Pedrosa was very good even after his early off track excursion

Crutchlow? Awesome & glad he has some bargaining power to help in in his time of need.

Although I am sure he was glad the race ended as Marc was on a mission

I felt bad for Dovi & thought maybe he could hold onto that 3rd

Very good racing I loved it !! ;)

"soihok" your still only a baby many happy returns.

Downloaded and watched last night and again this morning.

Great race, I just said and thought it would be 1st Marc. 2nd Val. 3rd Dani. smile.png

I was glad I was wrong well done Cal great race hope he gets the upgrade so he can keep with em in the dry.

Marc was outstanding so skilled at such a young age.

Dovi doing good too, good to see.

Look forward to write ups as to what happened to Jorge and Val in that case too.

Well done Scott how long before Marc and Scott meet on MotoGP hatchets at the ready.

I watch on BBC 2 coverage and Cal in interview said that Herve came down with pen and contract to sign and Cal said he had his chance last week to do that, so still not clear what's happening.

Yeah I saw that too & wondered what is going on.

You can read back on some news here...

I read some last week & from what I could tell it was all rumors

But yes seems some bad blood there now & that is never a good thing

Well pretty much what the 2 races looked like after the initial couple of laps.

Sykes was like a watch

Biggest fear for Aprilia I think is that their riders dont take each other out wink.png

A week down and out with dengue fever this time farking mossies, missed the WSBK too.

Dang take care & hope your feeling better!

Don't miss Mugello I think it will be good ;)

feeling better except in the pocket. Caught race 2 sbk last night, Tom was on it for sure, I think they've got that Kwaka perfect for a track like Donington, only out and out speed tracks will get the Aprilia and BMW up there.

Already sweating on Mugello

Practice at Mugello looked good.

Marc had another get off & this one was at a pretty high clip.

Seems to be ok though.

Posted (edited)

Qualifying was pretty interesting.

Cal was soooo close to Dov time for front row too.

Also back to that get off Marc had.
Seeing more clips now & he did actually bail out because his
bike was headed for that wall at over 200mph

Look at this telemetry chart from his suit maker AlpineStars
Shows he took some good hits & also went over 25G's force the suit
max out at that.

Saw some video pics of him as he took off his helmet today & he does look
like he went a few rounds with a heavyweight boxer.
