Well its hard to go past Dani after a lap like that I saw your post Mania about the top speed, I dunno but I saw Dani hit 342 in QP.

Yes Dani is tops now.

I missed Qual last night as I was out but Hayden had top speed

on FP3

Dani blew past it & also Stoners lap record for this track I believe in Qual.

Good on him hope he can keep it going for the race.

You know I was reading that the Yamaha boys have blown through their engine allocation & are on like engine 4 of 5.

I have not really followed this rule so can someone summarize?

I know they are allotted X amount of engines per season.

But once one is cooked are they not allowed to rebuild it?

I always thought they wee just limited to X amount & no new cases allowed.

But always thought they could rebuild the spent ones from their allocation.

Is that not true?

This is where I read about them going thru the engines rapidly as opposed

to Honda whose engines seem to hold up well

Lots of season left & if they are running low at Yamaha could be a problem then?

Moto3 Nice Race

Always good & always close.

Little things make the biggest difference in this class

& always enjoyable to watch

Mahindra has been moving along nice too

Would love to find a good Moto3 tech site & read more about the technology

in this class.

Heheh talk about a cliff hanger

Dang I lost my internet stream with 2 laps to go in MotoGP.

Right after Marc clipped his front wheel

Of course by the time the stream came back race was over.

At least nothing changed from where I lost contact but still huh.png

Wish I had a better connect some times but cannot complain for free wink.png

Moto2 was good too.

Wont spoil it by naming anyone as I know some watch delayed

Great race at the front while there were loads of crashes, mainly at turn 10 for some reason. Alvaro only just managing to miss Rossi early on.

Marc was on line to wipe out Dani at a couple of points, especially when lost the front momentarily. Good ride by the Doctor, which was nice to see.

Sad to see Cal eat the gravel, better luck next time.

Bradley Smith looked pleased didn't he?

Yeah that is just what I said about turn 10 watching practice

Don't know why or what was the deal there but it caught many napping

Also I was thinking after the race watching the top three conference that Ped look frazzled

I think having Marc at his rear tire all that time was taxing for sure.

I also bet when he saw the replay & Marc had to hit his front brake with 2 laps to go to keep from rear-ending

him..... smile.png

Yes also was sad to see Cal go down & Hayden too as he was doing so well in FP & Qual

I don't know the full rules about the engines but they did say last night that Yamaha (Jorge) had used up 4 out of 5 and had retired one of the used up ones. Retired must mean unrebuildable I suppose.

Its looking ominous for Dani with Jorge screaming off the start twice in a row and Marc climbing all over him.

To reply to your post with the pic of S. Bradl.......yes it certainly is f**kin awesome!

To reply to your post about Suzuki = sad.png

Well here she is the Suzuki XRH-1 wink.png

10 nice high rez pics here

Also from another post on same site....

Jorge Lorenzo has topped the timesheets at the end of the Barcelona MotoGP test,

but the talking point of the test was Suzuki. On its first public run out, Randy de Puniet

clocked a time of 1’42.676, just over three quarters of a second off the time set by Lorenzo, an impressive debut.

Thanks for the photos.

Shame we may not see it racing for another 2 years. We live in hope tho...

Well Jorge, faster than Dani......He was faultless in the race wasn't he........a true star.

Marc Marquez, in his first time at Aragon on the MotoGP machine,

completed 71 laps only aboard his 2013 machine and recorded a

quicker time than the pole record set by Casey Stoner in 2011 (1'48.451)

with a lap of 1'48.434. He and his team will stay for an extra day

tomorrow to test some more items on his current bike and also the 2014 prototype.

The kid is fast no doubt about that

Yep ! I do that all the time on my Versys. laugh.pngbiggrin.png ( in my dreams)

I would like Dani to get the 2013 Championship but like the commutators say with Marc coming in this year it's like rolling a grenade under the table.

Bummer I was getting so use to watching WSB one weekend & GP the next.

Seems this is a dead weekend sad.png

Then next weekend they bump heads with each other

Bumpy heads.....funny. Surely you mean F1?

That's all you can see of the guys in the cars, heads bumping about, apart from the odd hand now again slagging each off or waving like the queen.

I'm not knocking F1, much, as it is far more exciting than it was when Schumi was always winning and I do enjoy watching it. I have been to 3 races, all in Singapore.

On the other hand, a certain Doctor had it all his own way for a period of time,,,,buts lets face it, there is no comparison.

Yeah I agree about F1 soihok wink.png

But I meant GP at Assen & WSB at Imola
Well actually I see GP/Assen is the 29th & WSB/Imola the 30th so should be ok thumbsup.gif

I was watching F1 for a few years as I loved the technology & the sound of course.
But quite boring overall as two trains cannot pass on the same set of tracks most of the time.

Anyone tuning in remember Assen FP (14:00 our time) is today instead of the usual Friday.

I am looking forward to it after having a week off smile.png

Not looking good for Lorenzo who had the best time in FP1

He went down hard & fast in FP2 wet conditions

Looked like a snap high side.

Not sure what is wrong yet but looks like wrist or collarbone

Bummer & I hope not

Bummer sad.png

“Jorge has suffered an accident at over 200 kilometres an hour and the obvious injury at this point is a broken left clavicle,”

explains Dr. Xavier Mir. “However, as this was a significant accident, we have to take into account that there could also be head,

thoracic or abdominal injuries. For now, we have taken him to hospital in Assen

where CT scans will be carried out in those three areas to rule out any further injuries.

Just watched it,, OUCH.

Lucky in way there was so much run off.

This throws it into an open race now with Dani looking good. Shame as the racing at the front up to now was epic.

Get well soon Jorge!

Geez Marquez just got off in FP3 in similar fashion to Lorenzo

Looks ok but limping

Crossed up high side flip very similar to Lorenzo

Wow slow mo looked worse than Lorenzo

as the bike was on his leg for a long slide after flipping

Edited by mania
Posted (edited)

Told you it was similar smile.png

But watching the slow mo I say the Marquez crash was way more violent

He is lucky if unhurt

BTW: in 1st pic that is just how I 1st saw it. For some reason his hand stayed on the throttle

even as he went up & over
