Diy - Repairing A Water Damage Ceiling - Advice Please

Featured Replies

My lounge ceiling has some water damage and cracking due to leaking roof tiles , that have now been fixed. I'm going to have a go at repairing and redecorating the ceiling my self .

Ive been looking for a thick white mat finish paint that I could just roller onto the ceiling area and cover all the stains and cracked areas like these ones -

Having never done this type of repair before ( and don't want to use outside contractors due to past disappointments ) befor I give it a go , I thought I would ask here , just to see if any one can offer tips or advice on the best way to get the job done .wai2.gif

It would be a good idea to paint over the stained areas with white oil base paint first.(any metal or wood paint)

Allow 24hrs to dry, then paint over the whole ceiling with white emulsion paint.

This will prevent the stains reappearing once the painting has been finished, otherwise the stains will start to

show through again.
