A beer truck was robbed in Ayutthaya but police successfully arrested half of the perpetrators

4 assailants robbed a beer truck in Ayutthaya province last night, but police were able to apprehend 2 of the thugs.

Chamnarn Phongphiphat (ชำนาญ พงษ์พิพัฒน์), the driver of the truck carrying beer, said that 4 thugs on a pickup truck cut in front of him before using firearms to threaten him to comply. He was then handcuffed to the steering wheel and forced to drive the truck. However the group approached a police checkpoint on the way and Mr. Chamnarn decided to pitch the truck against the side of the road, prompting police to rush at the truck.

2 men were arrested but the other two of the perpetrators got away. The arrested criminals confessed they have robbed trucks before and were planning to sell the beer on the particular truck to agents in the area.

However police believe the men were after the truck's parts, which were usually sold to agents in Chaiyanart and Suphanburi.

Headline should probably read " ATTEMPTED BEER HEIST FOILED BY ALERT POLICE OFFICERS"

Since no beer was reportedly stolen, the charges will probably be attempted robbeery.

2 of the 4 mugs who attempted to steal the beer were apprehended while the other two fled the scene (No doubt to rush home and have a beer). :o

Only half?...were they legless from drinking too much?

Who??

The police or the perpetrators? :D

I am sure both sides will have "tested" the evidence before it finds its

way back to the real owner.
