Enter from Buakow. It will be one of the front stalls to the left ground level. They aren't always open.

She sometimes posts on Facebook when she’s open/not open. On Breakfast Club Pattaya or on her own page (Gigi Albany). Best tacos in Pattaya by far. Great margaritas. Friday nights she usually has shrimp tacos.

Kerala South Indian Restaurant

2nd road, South Pattaya

Will be adjacent to the current Indigo (more North Indian)

Both veg. and non-veg.

Will open in about a month

This is interesting because it sounds like it will be a dedicated South Indian restaurant that will have veg. and non-veg. Many other places have some South Indian dishes (usually mostly veg.) but this concept may be a little different. I think from the same owners as Indigo which some people like but never clicked with me.

Yeah that's where I went.  There is a Tony's Gym on the second floor.  Where is it relative to Tony's please?  Mixed among the food stalls in the market, in the roofed area directly across from Tony's?

tia

She's not actually on Google Street View as she has opened since they surveyed that area, but her shop is pretty much in the location I show below:

As mentioned, best to check her Facebook before going:

Following here up the comments from the 'Where to buy good pizzas' thread about 'Bei Gerhard' , Naklua Soi 31.

Gerhard sold the business some months ago. Since then the quality of food dropped a lot IMO. The service always used to be a mess there.

Now, Gerhard himself moved to a new place, called 'Das Wirtshaus' close to BigC Extra. Hopefully with new service staff.
Gerhard is a well known chef. Especially his sauces and soups are delicious IMO. Even in the Swabian region in Germany, where he has his roots, a comparable dish of  'Maultaschen' will be hard to find.

Until now he hasn't received his work permit, but rumours say, that he might open this Friday.

The new location is the former Walee's place.
Thank you for this information. I will not visit Bei Gerhard again , when the chef leaves we all know what happens. But will look out for his new place near Big C.

Chinatown

Chinese Food Court and Restaurant

Previous mentioned on this thread.

In Jomtien at Jomtien Complex bar area on Tappraya corner.

You can't miss it! It's a very ambitious operation.

Right now they are in a very soft opening with a very limited mostly rice plates menu but much, much more is coming starting in March.

They will also be getting a noodle machine that's being shipped from China but likely that will still take a while.

Very varied menu including some dim sum items.

Including items that are westerner friendly like sweet and sour pork/chicken/fish, Kung Pao chicken. (150)

From low cost items, noodles and snacks, to higher end large family seafood platters. Whole steamed fish -- 350.

A key person there is from Shanghai. Not sure about the chefs.

There will even be an open air street stand area in front of the restaurant.

The prices are very reasonable. All indications are that this place is NOT a tourist trap.

Hope that they allow non-gay...

Everyone is welcome there, mate. It's a Chinese restaurant. Nothing "scene" about it.

3 Idiots The Veggie Hub

MAJOR NEW RESTAURANT

Indian, Italian, Indo-Chinese including "Sizzlers"

Thappraya Road, Jomtien

A bit north of Marco's Italian

I haven't been yet but you can get a good idea of what they're about in the links. I'm not sure what to think about the big butts chair!

Well I am happy to say that I stumbled on to a real winner this afternoon. I was heading back from Mabprachan lake and spotted a place called Taco House, situated where Retox used to be about 500m from Planet football as you are heading back in to town on the left. I do enjoy good Tex Mex, so being somewhat hungry stopped and went in. Seriously glad that I did. Very nicely done out, very attentive staff and a really nice host. Menu was awesome and pretty reasonably priced.

I went for the Beef Tacos, which were as good as anything I have ever had in Thailand and way better and bigger than anything offered in town and about half the price.

Everyone in there seemed to be impressed with the food. I can see this place becoming very popular, especially as the range of items on the menu will ensure there is something for everyone. Kid friendly place too and plenty of big screens showing a variety of sports.

Apparently it just opened last week and I will definitely be going back regularly.

Thank you, interesting ! So Retox won't be anymore the only place where to eat around there !

Here is a map to the location found on their FB

Interesting, thank you, but is it Indian vegetarian food ?

Buy the way, has the Marco restaurant been reviewed here ?

Is he really a French who won a chef TV reality show ?

Cheers.

As I already indicated it's a fully vegetarian restaurant that serves Indian, Italian, and Indo-Chinese (Indian style Chinese, not Chinese Chinese) dishes, all vegetarian. There are a number of Indian vegetarian restaurants in Pattaya and some of them also do Indo-Chinese but I can't think of one that also does Italian.

I don't recall if Marco's has been reviewed here or not. I like their food though I find the vibe a tad snooty. It's worth a try. No idea about the accuracy of their publicity regarding t.v. shows and personally I don't care.

My Alberta buddy and I like it at The Berliner Eck on Jomtien Soi3. Reasonably priced too.

Fantastic! Oddly the last time I was at Gerhards in Naklua I could definitely notice a quality lapse. So glad to hear about the reincarnation.

Previously I had mentioned the ambitious new all vegetarian restaurant 3 Idiots in Jomtien.

I picked up a menu of theirs tonight so I can see more about it.

They have a business relationship to this place in Bangkok and definitely a lot of the same dishes. This isn't just any Indian restaurant. They recently catered the Indian embassy in Bangkok.

I can see 3 Idiots is not exactly a cheap experience.

For example one of their Indo Chinese "sizzler" platters such as Sizzling Shanghai is 400. I assume with you that you need either rice (100) or naan (60). Then add plus plus of 17 percent.

Very true.

I'll give Bei Gerhard in Naklua a miss too, as I always compare it to the times when Gerhard himself was cooking.

Okay, it is still quite good, but not comparable to before. My favourite place will be Wirtshaus now, what he is managing.

So the Das Wirtshaus Restaurant is the eatery located in Walee's Place?

That seems to be the case based on the report from the member who informed us that the Gerhard's chef has moved.

Gerhard took over the restaurant and guest house which was Walee's Place before and named it Wirtshaus now.

I don't know why James sold his business to Gerhard, but fortunately he seems doing well. He is a real gentleman and nice guy.

I walked all around Big C Extra on Klang and soi Yume, but failed to find Gerhard's new restaurant.  Could someone be more specific as to the location?

You can locate Walee's Place on this map. As you can see it's not all that close to Big C.

Actually according to the map  , it's only 5 minutes walk from Big C. If you are standing in the back entrance , outside the parking , then walk past the car wash , and then just before 3rd road , turn right , should be located next to one of the larger condos in the area.
