Popular Post shaggy1969
The day before these photos were taken Uncle NaPung had kindly taken us to Khon Kaen so we could buy some things for Junior. When we got back home at the end of the day I thanked him and asked him if was is anything i could do for him in return. He said that his wife was feeling a little sick and couldn't help with the rice planting the next day and would I be prepared to help out? ..............with a cheeky smile on his face, not expecting me to say yes. Not too sure if I helped out that much or if the rice I planted will grow well, but I had a good (be it painful) day with him and his Father. Uncle showing me how he wanted his rice planting Smoke fired up and ready for the off !!! Getting the hang of it whilst Uncle keeps a close eye on me and his future rice. Uncle said that if I did OK with the planting then he would kill one of his chickens and Aunt would make Tom Yam Kai that evening. Tom Yam Kai (as promised) Great day planting rice (plus learning to plow) and a thoroughly enjoyable evening ........... Hamstrings were a bit tender the next day though Edited August 27, 2013 by shaggy1969
Ron19
Quite often in our travels we see people planting rice by hand and one day were going past her sisters place when it was on.I said to my wife that they looked short handed could she get out and give them a hand and she said that I could go and jump in the lake ( or words to that effect ).Said that she had done enough of that in the past and didn't neeed any more of it.

My missus was exactly the same mate......I said to her " aren't you going to help " ?.....her reply was " no thanks,I'm enjoying myself too much watching you " Mrs shaggy was the only to supervise and to pass comments like " your not going as fast as Uncle is " and " I don't think you will be eating Tom Yam tonight " whilst laughing her head off The Boss taking shade under the bamboo. shaggy1969
Finally! No more ducks... . I know this is not the END.... Hmmmm,no more ducks?.......it will never happen my dear DAL !!! Although they do seem to be getting more difficult to photograph. I spotted the ones in the photo below before I had seen the dog. For some unknown reason he/she took a dislike to me and made very clear that my presence wasn't welcome......... So much that it chased me away from his farm. I had to keep turning round every few steps to make sure he didn't take a sneaky nip at me. Ducks,..........they'll be the death of me one day !!!
