In case anyone is wondering if you can use these outside the US, I bought one on a whim and it arrived yesterday. When you turn it on it asks for a connection (wired or wireless), then asks you to register on their site. I used my Middle East address and credit card and you just have to tick a box pretending you're a US citizen living outside - it doesn't seem to require any verification.

Most of the content is a bit crap, but it has US TV for $20 a month (for the first three months - then it goes up to $30 a month). There are cheaper plans. has ABC, CBS, CNN, Fox, Fox News, CW, Comedy Central, Syfy, etc.

I have reasonable Internet, but on a few channels where it was occasionally buffering, it refreshed to a slightly lower quality and carried on playing smoothly.

It also has SD and USB slots, so you can play your own media on it - not sure about the filetypes, you can probably find them on their website.

get 220v to 110V converter(just plug in supplied adaper): or

find a 110v-220v adapter AC/DC converter 12V 1.0A output range(use in place of supplied adapter)

It should be easy enough to buy a power adapter locally for 220V

Plenty of local electronics shops around.

Just make sure the output voltage and current are sufficient, particularly the current!!
