A nice quote, UG, but I'm not sure what it's got to do with anything. Anyway, who was Thomas Sowell? SearchQuotes doesn't tell me, though it puts some other nice quotes from him.

Try Googling Thomas Sowell. He is pretty well known and I have always had a lot of respect for him - even when I was a lot more liberal.

To the best of my knowledge, lying to the US people is not an impeachable offense. That is unfortunate since Obama has been touring the country in AF one, better known as his personal campaign vehicle, in an attempt to paint the Republicans in the corner on the sequester issue and is considerably less than truthful in his speeches.

He is claiming all sorts of dire problems will result from the sequester, which by the way, was his proposal in the first place. He supported it and signed the law into place yet somehow is getting the main stream media to report his every word that the Republicans are behind this dastardly deed which will cause havoc and mayhem across the US.

Let's examine the numbers and see just how much havoc this can possibly have.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In 2013 the anticipated US government revenue is estimated to be $2,450,000,000,000 ($2.45 Trillion)

In 2013 the anticipated US government expenditures are set to be $3,800,000,000,000 ($3.8 Trillion)

The sequester amount is set to be a cut in future spending annually of $85,000,000,000 ($85 Billion)

...now let's remove 8 zeros and assume this is a family budget...

2013 revenue is $24,500.

2013 expenditures are $38,000.

Amount sequestered $850.

As that lovely lady Nikki Haley, governor of SC recently said, "My kids could find $85 Billion in cuts in this federal spending."

Obama had no problem asking American families to pay about 2-3% more in taxes this year yet he whines about the end of the world when 1.5% from the budget increase is due to happen.

What are the chances of Obama making it thru his second term w/out being impeached?

If he continues to be the Imperial President taking a vacation every month, not good:

Everyone knows presidents don't take "real" vacations anymore; they're always on call and can work remotely from anywhere. If that's the best you've got, some silly cartoon about golf, I'd say the chances of impeachment are about ZERO.

Obama is still only in his 3rd month of his final four years and his weakness is becoming more exposed weekly. My bet is still better than 75% chance that he finishes with the same foot note as Clinton

I find it very amusing that anyone would think that. Another symptom of the anti-Obama bubble world.

Isn't the anti-Obama bubble world simply a counterweight to the pro-Obama bubble world?

There's that bubble again. coffee1.gif

Way to early to know how his second term and history will treat him, but so far well into the TOP TIER and likely to remain so:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Historical_rankings_of_Presidents_of_the_United_States

He's got strengths and weaknesses.

He's no Lincoln but I predict he will rate higher than Reagan, who is way overrated by the bubble people.

Once the cool aid is gone he will go down in history along side Jim carter lets be honest he has brought a new standard of low to the office of potus.

Honestly, that's ridiculous.

Very accurate.

If it makes you FEEL better about losing so badly to unfairly diss Obama, I suppose it does no harm.

Obama is just getting a sip of what previous Presidents have endured.

If he didn't have the main stream media in his pocket, he would be getting large drinks from the fountain of knowledge known as the media.

Even now, some on the left are beginning to see through him and are turning on him. Not much but a little.

Yeah, that's original. Blame your big loss on the mainstream media.

As for Obama himself, he is a bland left-leaning centrist, a slightly
more liberal clone of moderate Republicans like Dwight D. Eisenhower,
and his “socialist” policies are part of a long American tradition that
goes back to FDR.

Barak Hussein Obama has both given names of Arabic roots.

Barak (a variant of Mubarak) means 'blessed one' in Arabic - that is, blessed by Allah.

Hussein means 'to be good'.

If you think this guy is a friend to the Israelis, then you had better reconsider.

He is the biggest con-trick ever foisted on the American people, and they are too gullible to realise it.

There will be no substantive aid to Israel while this man is in power.

I has well as other Black Americans in private can not believe Jews for Obama

You understand Obama

Correct. The mainstream media lied their heads off in the last election and now some on the left are starting to admit it.

TBH i try to see the good and bad in all POTUS and that makes me feel fair on the other hand when i meet or read post by Obama supporters who rave that he is a good president and may go down in history as a great president it just makes me fear for the future of the USA. Children gone wild; i want, i want, i want, you pay.

Thanks, JT. You have just proved my point about the main stream media.

Rachel Maddow and her MSNBC cronies are the main perpetrators of the Obama mystique.

Remember Chris Matthews and the "thrill up my leg". comment? Just in case you have forgotten, here it is again.

Gays are a TINY minority.

Correct and most Republicans support gay rights, but consider gay marriage to be a frivolous issue that is not a right.

Got that right. Seen where the Democrats are bailing on the homo marriage thing now?

Back to the Statist Media which enabled a totally incompetent individual such as B. Hussien Obama back into office. If the Statist Media were not carrying his H2O, his poll #'s which, btw are sinking, would be in the negative.

Gay marriage in the US is being decided in the supreme court, who will federalize current state gay marriages, and allow popular votes on expanding the current nine states offering it at the state level. Within 10 years the majority of US states will have REAL gay marriages with the over 1000 legal rights as any U.S. marriage. Later, discrimination against gay people in this regard will obviously be ruled unconstitutional as the nightmare of marriages being real in one state and dissolving just based on changing state residence can NOT stand. It should be now, but still some bigoted dinosaurs on the court. 80 percent of Americans under 30 support legal gay marriage. For those that are going to be bothered by this happening -- please get over it. It does nothing to hurt you. Nobody is going to make you get gay married, OK?

B. Hussien Obama

So cheeky and clever. Why not just call him Muzzie McMuzzie?coffee1.gif

Why not extend the same taxation benefits to single people then? I think it will be found, when enough time for data collection has passed, that gay marriagewill effectively grant more rights than heterosexual marriage, where matters of taxation and inheritance are concerned. I expect the fallout of that discovery is that those special rights will disappear for everyone.

I have no idea what you are talking about. Start with a country and give one example how gay marriage with exactly the same rights as any marriage would have any special rights. If you are talking about tweaks to laws involving ALL married people, that would be fair assuming there was a rationale. This special rights thing is almost always used as a red herring. Here's your chance to prove there is a crumb of substance to your assertion.

I am talking about rights extended to all married persons. I think they will be withdrawn with respect to taxation in time.
