As a convicted crim with a jail cell waiting for him is he still eligible?

His name is in the Bangkok Hilton blue book.

My understanding of 'The Blue Book' is, AKA "The Social Register"

there is no-one in Thailand qualified to be in 'The Blue Book',

including the entire contents of 'The Bangkok Blue Book'.

The interesting aspect here is, whether he did vote in all elections, in which he was elegible to vote. If he missed one - like last Sundays' election - he looses the right to stand for election for 5 years, counting from the date of the missed election. Now I don't think he gives a damn about casting his vote, but he does about being able to stand for an election, prefably as a convicted prime minister...

Now why do I always get the echo "Berlusconi" when I say "Taksin"???

I think that is one year, if he votes on the next election, he can run in the following one.

The 5 years ban is for this convicted of crimes above a certain threshold.

He did that for the TRT dissolution case, but that was over 5 years ago.

So his 5 years ban is up for that.

For the Rach case, I am not sure if it goes from date of conviction or date of release.

Conviction might make sense, but TIT.

I thought that was just for general elections.
